What is the weakest a super fem can be?

What is the weakest a super fem can be? was created by happiest_in_shadows
I have a storyline idea that I would like to do eventually. However, while the female I have planned will eventually become super strong she isn't on par with someone like Kate in Going super or several other super fems. At least in the strength and speed department, she does have a lot more tricks though.

So I was wondering, what is the minium strength a super fem should have to be welcome into the community?

Well, we asked the computer to evaluate the minimum acceptible strength level to within 12 decimal places, but it crashed.

As a suggestion: If you (or any author) is in anyway unsure that a character is strong enough to qualify for the SWM universe, then chances are, she isn't.

Any one else want to have a go at an answer?

Actaully, I wasn't under the impression she needed anymore than olympic level strength. I mean, are YOU gonna tell Batgirl she isn't a superhero. I'm superstrong and I'M superstrong and I'M not even sure I'd mess with her! I wouldn't think Supergirl/Wonder Woman/She-Hulk-like powers were necessary.

I agree with Ultragirl.

I think that for most of us, an ubergirl ought to be able to toss a tank into orbit and shatter asteroids with her bare fists -- and I enjoy those images as much as anyone else on this forum.

The ubergirls I write about -- Atalanta and a couple of others still in the planning stage -- are generally less powerful than that. If I had to come up with a number, I'd say they were 1,000 to 10,000 times stronger than an ordinary human -- strong enough to lift a bus or a tank, but not a battleship.

Of course, it's hard to be consistent about strength levels. Atalanta uproots trees, for example. How much strength does that call for? A lot, obviously, but precisely how much I have no idea.

To answer the question -- I wouldn't want a writer to refrain from submitting a good story just because its heroine is "only" 100, or even 10, times stronger than an ordinary human.

You could even make the case that super-strength is conveyed more vividly when the girl possesses a relatively modest level of strength. If she has to put a little effort into lifting a tank ... well, that makes it easier to imagine the vehicle's weight than if she simply raised it off the ground with her pinkie -- not that I don't enjoy that image too!

Hey, if it's a good story, and if the girl's strength is at all beyond the ordinary -- I say, send it in!

Thanks for the opinions Ultragirl and Argonaut. I plan on using the concept of a female Vampire for the story, set in the world of darkness. So I was wondering if she would be strong enough, now I feel that she would be especially once she got her potence discipline to level 3 or 5. Though that isn't enough to lift a tank, she could indeed up root a tree with her hands or smack someone with a motorcycle.

Potence = Vampire's ability to increase their strength beyond human levels.

Hello all,
First off, thanks Admit for directing me to this post. I had this same question for him when I noticed my first 5 female TF scans didn't receive the recognition I had thought they would -thanks to pup and talk2sparky for their comments- When I think of a superheroine, I think just that, 'super,' I think of someone who is above the rest in speed, reflexes, and power. This doesn't necessarily mean that she has to be super strong for the heroine to be 'super.' -as those in previous posts mentioned- Some of my favorites can't list a car, tank or bus, nor do they need to. -Batgirl, Spider-Woman, Wasp- They do, however, obtain superhuman abilities, which catagorizes them as 'superheroines.' I am feeling a little discouraged to post any more pics here because I'm unsure as to what people are looking for in terms of a superheroine. Sure, I like FMG, femals with super strength, and I could post hundreds of supergirl TFs I own, but seeing this site seems to focus a lot on heroines with super strength, I'd like to showcase those heroines who may not be able to lift tons, but rather, use their martial arts, super reflexes, energy powers to save the world from evil. To me, that's my idea of a 'superheroine' :)

I once wrote a series of shorts about "Jane Doe"...a weregazelle of sorts. She's quicker than stink, and could probably go 10 rounds w/ Batgirl, but Jane'd have difficulty dusting behind the refrigerator. Still, she made it in...but barely. Written any worse and she'da been flushed from the "storybank" of the day.

My current low-end is a little tigress I like to call "Raja". For the first 25-odd pages of my "Tangerine Dreams", Raja's 5'5" or so and only a smidge stronger than you'd think a young tigress of her size'd be. Even so her roar alone's enough to curl your toes and she's quite capable of removing them for you--regardless of whatever belt you mouseboy might be wearing.

<shudder>

Anywho, it's not about strength, per-se. I think here its more about a woman's ability to project things like confidence, huxtpa, carniverouslness, a bit of arrogance, cunning, swicked sexiness, bulky chunks of scenery, small cars...

It's really up to the author and the girl to sell herself as uber. There are times in DC's scripts where Kara's just standing there with enough power to move the moon--but nobody on-location'd believe it. There are other times when my all-too-breakable Raja's hissing steam down your shirt that I guarantee the few parts of you still functioning will believe.

Raja's kinda an exceptional screen test though. She...um....'projects' well (nevermind her after she gets her powers, she's way outta this discussion then).

Anywho, my point being: if the girl can convincingly project she's uber...than she's uber. Never mind the numbers. I never do. Thems makes for good grades in engineering school...and terrible boring reading.

"Awe-inspiring". Let me propose THAT as the one-and-only criteria.

Love,
-White Paw

A super fem should be able to do things with thoughtless ease that no mortal man could do...and without resorting to martial arts. She can outmuscle any man with casual ease. At a minimum she should be several times stronger than the strongest man on earth - able to lift a car...bend open the bars of a cell door...outrun a car.

I enjoy many different variations.

While I really enjoy watching a girl take on a column of tanks, playing with them as if they were toys...I also enjoy a more naturally strong girl like Xena. She might not be able to lift a tank but the fact that she could fight a platoon of soldiers with relatively human strength is also enjoyable to watch...especially if she's smiling while she's doing it :D
