My apologies if this has been referenced already in another thread, but there's a work of Serious Literature that's recently come out which some of our merry band might find interesting. The Power imagines a future dominated by women, stemming from a moment roughly in our present when adolescent girls suddenly develop the ability to administer electric shocks that can injure or even kill. Nobody's flying around in spandex or juggling tanks but still, some might find it interesting. It's being compared to The Handmaid's Tale in its depiction of a weird but identifiable future society.

Wow, my apologies. It never occurred to me to look back that far. Entertainment Weekly reviewed it an issue or two ago as if it was a new work, and that Amazon link says the hardcover came out October 10th. I didn't realize it had already been released in other parts of the world.

It was first released in UK in 2016 (the author is english), while last month only in USA. In Italy it was released last August as "Ragazze Elettriche" ("Electric Girls", ugh... stupid translators).
