Help needed: Supergirl Chronology

The Supergirl Chronology (generously hosted on this very site) has had a minor update... A mere handful of changes... Oh, just approximately 300 new Supergirl comics, that's all(!!), covering the whole of the Matrix era, all lovingly described and documented by yours truly. Yep, after many many weeks of work, the Supergirl timeline has been extended from the Pre-Crisis era to also cover the Post-Crisis era, giving notes, plots, characters, artists, writers, costumes, and a whole lot more for every Girl of Steel comic appearance (including cameos) from 1959 right through to 2004.

I wanted to get the work done in time for the return of the CW Supergirl tv show in mid-October, so it could be re-launched to coincide with the brand new season. Many of the show's fans and even one of the show's most popular podcasts have been very kind in the past in spreading the word, so the new season seems like the best opportunity to get everyone's attention. BUT... before I start causing a ruckus on social media, I'd appreciate a few people giving the site the once over, just to check for typos, missing cover images, errors, etc.

Thanks,
R5

The first comment I have is that the comicbookdb.com chronology for supergirl (pre-crisis), does list appearances after 1988. I'm not sure if you care to count them, or include them though.

A good argument could be made that most of them are just another variant of Supergirl and not the same character.  For instance one of those is "Star Trek and the Legion of Super-Heroes".  Another is the hideous Convergence crossover.

I'd argue these are NOT really the pre-crisis Supergirl.

I don't seem to have Superman: Lois & Clark #1 to read it and find out what happens.  At the time there were a few stories told that had the "original Superman" (or the pre-Byrne one) and if so, then any Supergirl that appeared would probably be her.

A bunch of the listings are collections, those don't count for what you're doing!

Probably the biggest one other than that would be Justice, which is really told using characters from that time as a conceit and she dressed like Hot-Pants Supergirl IIRC.  (double kudos for "First appearance of Supergirl's iconic hotpants costume.")

www.comicbookdb.com/character_chron.php?ID=219

Not sure that matters.  (That list of stuff after her last appearance before the DC Editorial fiat of never using her (until Matrix), is something I'm due to look through as collecting those issues are probably one of my next little missions.)

hm.  yeah, I'm going to have to add some of these to my search list.

The first comics after the gab especially:
Adventures of Superman #558  -- comic book DB only describes the first story but starts it with "The first of three stories that take place in the Silver Age reality of Superman"

I'm missing Legionnaires #61 and Legion of Super-heroes #105 too. Damn it.  (I'm not at home so I guess it wouldn't matter, I can't read them until Sunday when I get back.)

But i have to say how impressive this entire thing is!  This is coming from someone who has (I think) scoured down every comic with Supergirl the actual title.  (i.e. not Adventure Comics, Action Comics, or DC comics Presents where she appears, but titled "Supergirl" or "American Honda Presents DC Comics' Supergirl", "Supergirl: Fastest Girl Alive" (etc).  (You have the Honda ones listed as "Supergirl Honda Giveaway", I list it as my inventory program does, I honestly don't think it matters esp with the link to the DC Wiki)  I (of course) have a bunch of the other comics too.  But this is a LOT of comics to index, categorize and describe!

Speaking of which, I think you got the date wrong for Chrismas with the Super-heroes #2.  You used the date for #1, not #2.  It should be 1989.  The link to the cover is also not working.  (I only learned of this story here not too long ago!  REALLY impressive list!)

This is the correct link: dc.wikia.com/wiki/Christmas_with_the_Super-Heroes_Vol_1_2

I'll see if I can find anything else.

Thanks for the corrections. You're right, Christmas with the Superheroes was misdated -- it has now been corrected and moved into the Matrix era timeline.

I've also added Adventures of Superman #558, Legionnaires #61, and Legion of Super-Heroes Vol. 4 #105, as they all include cameos by Supergirl. The latter two are Pre-Crisis Kara, while the Superman comic is (confusingly) Post-Crisis Supergirl drawn in the style of the Silver Age. As such, I've catalogued that as a 'Non-Canon' Supergirl rather than 'Pre-Crisis' or 'Matrix', as I've not sure the character is supposed to be the PAD one current at that time.

At the moment I'm only dealing with issues published between 1959 and 2004. There are Pre-Crisis Kara Zor-El appearances published after 2004, but I'll deal with those if I ever get round to doing the post-PAD era.

Oh, and check the last paragraph of the home page.  :)
