Atomic Blonde
Not superpowered but cool none the less, Charlize Theron is very cool in the trailer.

There's definitely something to be said for the 'cinematic' power level. Individual moments are probably within human limits, but the sustained action just goes right off the charts.

I think that the Velorian solution is more elegant, although less aerodynamic

Flat-chested/shrunken breasts = low in power and vitality. But streamlined.
Large, firm, high breasts = full with power and vitality and youthfulness. Might lead to some boob flutter at high speeds.
Obviously boobs appeal to my kink, but it's also an extension of the most ancient human perception, built into our genes, to view healthy large-breasted women as being more fertile. And to view shrunken and emaciated as indicative of disease or low fertility.
The origin is simple - science. Fertility in all mammals is improved by having a required level of fat to allow maximal hormonal production.
Besides, what other human organ has been designed to significantly expand or contract in size based on its contents? That wouldn't feel good inside your abdominal or chest cavity, so external organs make more sense.
I suppose I could have come up with a male equivalent of this, but being a straight (cis) male, I went with what I knew and liked. Besides, balls the size of grapefruit would get in the way far more than breasts the same size do. <grin>

I agree... rare to find someone who is visually stunning and also fearless and a seriously good actress.
I read an interview where her kids were giving her a hard time for getting all bruised and beat up while filming Atomic Blonde. She did most of her stunts and some were very long sequences.
But apparently her male co-star had it worse given that Charlize is bad at pulling her punches and kicks. Apparently he had some bruised ribs.
She claims that the movie is "real" in the sense that she's fighting like a highly trained woman and not a man, despite her taking on a role that could have been written for a man. Which means using elbows, knees, feet, head, opponent's weight and strength against them, etc as opposed to trying to out box her opponent. Not many women have the weight and bone strength in fists and arms to deliver really hard punches without breaking something.
It would be interesting to compare it to Jolie in the movie Salt, which is a script written for Tom Cruise that she took on. A similar role in that it involved lots of fights with men and all kinds of acrobatic stunts.
But she was convincing as a superhuman in Hancock, and she has punched her way through other roles..

I give it two thumbs up. It does not match up as an action movie against John Wick I & II, but that's a pretty damn high bar. The action scenes are pretty good, better than I remember most recent action movies being if I exclude the Wicks.
Chrlize Theroon sells her part. I vaguely remember watching Salt and a few times going "riiiiight" about a woman Angelina Jolie's size and build pulling off her fighting (but I need to see it again) I didn't have ANY of that for Atomic Blonde. Charlize Theron is tossed around by larger men, and doesn't engage in punching battles with them (when she's forced to, she's beaten around and wins by changing the game). Her strikes seem realistic in style, stopping power, and damage against her opponents. She's a bad ass, but she's not unrealistically so.. I know we'd rather see an unrealistic bad ass, but sadly this isn't a sequel to Hancock.

At one point in a fight her and her opponent are barely standing, and their movements are slow and shaky ... but this seems correct after the damage they'd taken and how long the fight had gone on. Not every action movie gets this right, that gritty feel from the fight from Carpenter's They Live where they can barely stand.
Both her her and Sofia Boutella get beaten up more than a little. If you are totally turned off by violence against women, this movie ain't for you. OTH, I EXPECT the star of an action flick to get knocked around, and I didn't think any of the violence was gratuitous. And unlike peril films, Theron ends up on top. (The movie starts with her recounting her actions in Berlin, so we know she lives through it from the beginning.) The movie is just as brutal to the men, and it does so right from the first scene.
There is more than a little nudity, mostly artful, of Charlize Theron and Sofia Boutella. I think it all served as parts of the narrative rather than "let's show the hot woman naked".
I think it worked well a spy movie ... part of the movie is to figure out who is lying, to whom, and why. If that part engages you, I think you'll really enjoy the movie. I do think it had a few rough parts with that, but by and large it does the right job. There is likely enough action that it works as an pure action movie too ... and Charlize Theron isn't hard on the eyes. She struts around to 80's pop music in 80's fashion. (if you recall an 80's song that had a version with German lyrics, it was in this movie.)
Anyway, it was an enjoyable experience. I am not driven by a NEED to see it again (unlike Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Logon, JW I&II, and GOTG2.), but at the same time I would gladly watch it again with friends or when it hits netflix.

I have not seen the movie so I really can not comment.

For a relatively low budget ( $30 million) period piece action movie the take of almost $19 million was not so bad.

Charlize Theron knows how to make grown men cry: fight like a girl. #AtomicBlonde -- Oscar® winner Charlize Theron explodes into summer in Atomic Blonde, a breakneck action-thriller that follows MI6’s most lethal assassin through a ticking time bomb of a city simmering with revolution and double-crossing hives of traitors. The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies. A blistering blend of sleek action, gritty sexuality and dazzling style, Atomic Blonde is directed by David Leitch (John Wick, upcoming Deadpool 2). Also starring John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones, the film is based on the Oni Press graphic novel series“The Coldest City,” by Antony Johnston & illustrator Sam Hart. Kurt Johnstad (300) wrote the screenplay.
