It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a DVD set!

So the new Superman DVD's all hit stores today, and I'm pondering which to buy. I already have the old set of all 4 Christopher Reeve movies, so I was planning on just getting the "Richard Donner cut" of Superman 2, which I was very curious about, and I'll probably eventually buy Superman Returns, but I'm not in a huge rush to get it.

But then I was reading some of the materials about the "Ultimate" set on the internet, and I noticed that they mention that there are deleted scenes added back into Superman and Superman 2 (the regular version, not the Donner version). I'm curious, especially if the extra scenes in the second one involve Ursa. :) I specifically remember one scene that I saw years ago with her in it that I'm betting is in there.

So now I'm considering maybe getting those 2 also, or maybe just buying the boxed set, since it won't cost that much more than buying them all individually. And I'm not sure what the difference is with the cheaper boxed set that also just came out, besides the fact that Superman Returns isn't in it. I'm not sure if that one includes the extra scenes, Donner cut, etc.

And of course, none of these things includes the re-release of Supergirl, which I probably won't buy, since I already have a DVD of that with all the deleted scenes added back in, although it's missing the rest of the extras.

Anyone bought any of these yet and know the answers to what's in where, and which deleted scenes are worth seeing? Not just from an ubergirl perspective, I mean. Any info would be appreciated.

Just to answer one of my own questions, I just checked on amazon.com. The cheaper boxed set does not include the Donner cut of Superman 2 or Superman Returns. It has the same versions of all the original 4 movies, though, including the bonus stuff, though I can't tell if it's missing some of the extra bonus features that aren't on the film discs. Those are things I don't really care about though. If I'm getting a boxed set, it'll be the ultimate one, since the Donner cut is the main thing I'm curious to see.

So I broke down and bought the Ultimate set. Not really worth $70, but I actually have enough spare cash at the moment to be able to waste a little of it. Since there is some ubergirl material, and there's been more conversation there, I'm going to post a more detailed review in the movies forum, under the conversation I started about the new Supergirl release on DVD.
