they are a real silver age gem. A perfect blend of Marvel's romance comics and DC's "silly" storiesSupergirlfan wrote: I love the Supergirl of Smallville Stories...

Yay. Looking forward to the workshop stories and more SGOS!

I'm a sucker for supergirls in space.
The illustrations were great as well; I loved her action pose on the cover.

Beautifully done.
Keep her away from the Bay of Pigs though, huh?
And never ever forget that there are many readers out there who look forward to your stuff. I've been a huge fan of Argonaut since his absolutely marvelous Atalanta story, a thrilling counterpart to much of the genre, wherein protagonists are decidedly evil, sociopathic bad girls. Between Team Acenaut and the wonderful Dr. Muttonchops, we have two great sources for fiction, well worth supporting!

DS71: TGK always does great work for us, but I think his cover art for this chapter is outstanding.
Anon: Come for the pictures, stay for the story!
goobers: Yes, I hope all the chapters will eventually be back in the StoryBank.
eromacque: Your post gives me an opportunity to note that Ace and I tried to follow the actual events of the Friendship 7 mission as closely as possible. NASA did cut the mission short because a faulty monitor led them to believe that the heat shield might be loose. And Glenn did report seeing "fireflies" through the observation window. The only thing we did change was having the mission take place on a Saturday.
We don't plan to involve Supergirl in the Bay of Pigs, although a little air support might have made all the difference. That sounds like a story for DietSnapple71!
An Atalanta fan? Wow. Thanks. I was working on a new Atalanta story for the workshop, but May turned out to be a horrifically busy month. Maybe I can finish it this summer.
Finally -- thanks for the shout-out to Dr. Muttonchops. I've always enjoyed his stories, but I thought he was really hitting his stride with his Fleischer-inspired Superwoman series. Sadly, he's been discouraged by the lack of feedback to his last couple of stories. If there are other SWManiacs who'd like to see more tales from the good doctor, send him some props!

Actually it's more like interested in the story, sold by the pictures.

Thta's something I will enjoy to see, yet I think that addising a couple more historical inserts will be interesting.

We need a few simple sentences translated into Spanish. Ace knows Spanish, but he's been super busy lately and hasn't been able to send me the translations I need.
If you're an SWManiac, reasonably fluent in Spanish and willing to help out, send me a private message.
Thanks!

Personally I love this theme of getting involved in some real historical events, it gave the story a great sense of perspective.

I can barely wait for the next chapter, and I will be interested to see if Lana has accidentally sparked a diplomatic incident (though I would think public opinion would be on her side if any thing does come of it.
Thanks.
