Wow, it's good that you wrote a synopsis for what's happened so far. I have no idea who the characters are anymore ;)

Thanks for posting, ElF.

Esteban, Thanks for the comment about the synopsis. I wrote it so that people could jump in right at the recently posted chapters, without having to read the earlier parts first.

Although there are a lot of characters, there are just a few key ones: the four supergils (Vicky, Tammy, Louisa and Kim), and then their fifth wheel, Jared.

I hope you all enjoy it!

The new powers you gave them seem very very promising, can't wait to see what they do with them. It's good that Jared is still there to keep at least Vicky a bit grounded, though.

No kidding here. I wonder why the installments are submitted in such big bundles, though (you can't see the other one's yet). Is there a reason behind this?

The story synopsis and character sheet are a great idea to keep track of what was happening so far. With bigger and increasingly complex stories it get's harder and harder to keep track when there are several months between the installments after all (I remember more than a few question marks in the chat about that).

But btt: I really like the Jared/Vicky dynamic.

Agreed, perhaps it would be a good idea to have them for stories that have more than a certain number of installments.

Don't wanna speak for Cup, but I think the rationale for posting in chunks was to allow people time to read them and also not "hijack" most, if not all, of the Latest Stories widget. He wanted to release the subsequent chapters weekly and also not interfere with the submitted Workshop stories so we planned to work around that as well.

I personally like the synopsis as well....

That's not exactly what I meant. I was more wondering why he waited until he had this many chapters bundled up instead of posting them when they were ready.

Njae, if the other ones are up. Are we allowed to know when they will be available for reading later on?

Lfan is responsible in this case, so all I know is what he said in the post earlier: weekly basis. There haven't been any dates set for publishing either (it is possible to automatically publish a story at a future time).

In terms of the publishing schedule, I think I can clarify how this is all working.

I always write the series in large chunks -- about 8 chapters at a time. Doing it that way is painful, but it helps me achieve a more coherent plot with more consistent characters.

In the past, I published the large chunks as they were completed. Parts 1-9 hit the site in a single blow, and later, Parts 10-14 did the same thing. This had the effect of clogging the story ticker. Moreover, I think it had the effect of overwhelming some readers, who would glance at the large pile of material and say "I don't know how to chip away at that."

So, this time, I asked LFan to post in weekly installments only. Hopefully, that makes this series more accessible to casual visitors, and keeps the story ticker clear for others. It's really not that different than the way comic books are published, and there are clearly many in this audience who are well versed in those.

Final benefit of this approach: it gives me an outside chance of being able to write the next chunk of material before you all are done reading the current chunk, creating the possibility that we could have a continuous flow of material. Not sure I can live up to that ambition, but I'll try.

Hope that clears it all up. Thanks also for the feedback on the synospsis. I might include a short one on the front of every story, so that anyone can enter the series at any point. The key points of the plot are not that complicated, so it should be easy to bring new readers up to speed.

Most importantly, I hope everyone enjoys the material!

i have to say that this chapter 22 is one of the best piece of supergirl-literature i have ever red, i liked really a lot the style and how yu describe the things as thinked by the girls, i only hope and pray yu will apply this style to even more big challenges, i mean i hope yu now will go to describe the girl managing not a prison but a bank, then a military post, then army bases then the entire country and then the world !

We must all encourage the author to the next chapeters asap !!

A big thank you to everyone who posted the positive comments, both in this forum and at the bottom of the recent stories!

Also I particularly wanted to acknowledge Lfan, who gave helpful detailed feedback on recently posted chapters as well as some upcoming ones. His feedback prompted me to re-write some of what you have already seen, as well as some other things that are upcoming. This has delayed my posting of the stories, but I think the stories will be the better for it.

Parts 23 and 24 will be available shortly (as soon as one of the administrators hits the button).

To berkshirelad's question posted at the bottom of Part 20, Jared is indeed coming back into the plot. He'll re-emerge about three or four chapters down the stretch. In the meantime, other men emerge to play significant roles. Part 24 introduces Alec, one of the rugby guys recently hauled out of Pakistan. He takes a shine to Tammy in particular. But Tammy receives so much adoration from so many, what hope does he have of getting her attention?

23 was supergreat. I liked 24 too, but 24 kept the sexual tension right on the edge and showed how sometimes a superwoman is going to get her way without bending steel bars.

I like the fact that they use their persuasive skills to bend their image in the public to their will instead of using their strength to simply force everyone to do as they say. First, that is very sexy ;) Second, ruling the world this way is much less destructive to the hypothetical world. You have more possibilities, routes to go, and the world inside of the story isn't as far off from the real world as it would be if they'd just destroy every army and stuff. Makes it easier to relate for me.

The world is just too big for such a small group to rule by brute force. When you are 4 superwomen against 7 billion norms, you either rule indirectly, or slaughter enough of the norms that you can actually rule the remainder by brute force. I'd say a global population of about 40 million is near the cap - 4 large city-states, each with its super-queen. At that point, they can actually hope to keep track of the resistance and still have enough spare time to do whatever it is they took over the world to do. I'm sure Vicki and her sidekicks could easily handle the job of reducing global population to that extent, but I think it would be terribly dull. Thus, I too like seeing them work on persuasion and seduction, and reserve the super-destruction for the nails that stick up and need hammering.

I think that Jabb nailed the problem. As powerful as a single super (or a small group) is, unless he/she is fully omniscent ruling with a complete iron fist will be something of a problem.

File under "life imitates art."

The day after reading the latest chapters (#s 23 & 24), I stumbled upon a front page link on the Washington Post about a new, never before documented "dark lightning" that scientists just discovered. Makes me wonder if Kim has been breaching the fourth wall to come wreak havoc on our universe' meteorologists as well. By the way, this is by far the best story to come along in years IMO. Thanks for writing and sharing it, CircesCup.

Thanks to everyone who shared the positive comments, both on this forum and in the comments box at the bottom of the stories!

To keep you updated on future postings, I am still working on 25. However, 26 is in pretty good shape.

Since the workshop deadline is tomorrow April 14, I image that we will all have a few good stories to read in very short order. Therefore, I plan to time the next DDI installment for about 2-3 weeks from now, after the dust settles from the workshop.

That's nice. The workshop, DDI, and we as readers with only limited free time deserve avoiding the collision :)
