Farewell Doc and thanks for all the stories

08 Oct 2014 10:24 #38450 by Woodclaw
I think that many of you already knew this, but I think it's right to bring this to everyone's attention: as of last Sunday our friend Dr. Muttonchops decided to stop writing superwomen fiction (and fiction in general), he announced it through his DeviantArt Page .
I think it's a shame since Doc was able write stories with a distinct style that made them pop from the mass and he had a rare sensibility for the medium.
His stories aren't going anywhere, though, they will remain in the Library for the foreseeable future and I really hope that many more users can enjoy them for the years to come.

His style was refreshing, and he had a knack from strong storytelling. He made his heroine attractive without resorting to sex, too...

Great writer. Looking back on the old comics from the 40s you see that superman or Baman where there-but they wheren't particuarly deep characters. Just square jawed heros without a lot of depth.

Docs Strength as a writer was that he found the depth. Clara may always wink at the camera at the end of her stories, but she has a suprising amount of feeling and care-wants and desires. Part of it is that unlike classic Superman( who really didn't seem to care all that much about lois), She clearly loved louis-but can't quite have the nerve to tell him. You can feel for her even as she fought some some really gloriously silly villains.

As a personality outside his stories he seemed a little brusque but god damm if he wasn't one of the best writers on the site.
