Should "YouTube Findings" be given its own forum?

05 Feb 2008 19:41 #11620 by admin

How about a section devoted to Youtube or other online videos? There are tons of them on there.

What do other members think? Poll runs for a week.

Look, I voted yes because I'm lazy and like the idea of someone else finding my goodies for me

but

I'm feeling woeful guilty because that leaves it up to some poor eegit to compile the lot of it and that's not fair

the admin boys around here do enough for us without us asking for /demanding we get / being shitheads about feeling entitled to.... more

so my vote is for some sort of you tube subscription alert that the admin do not have to update and edit and clean and monitor etc....and that gives us what we want

and thats my 2 cent

I was about to vote "yes" -- but then I read the Captain's post.

I assumed the forum would be for NEW YouTube finds. Like CI, I don't want admin sifting through our old posts in search of YouTube links. That would be a lot of work for him, and only a slight convenience for us.

So I'll refrain from voting. But a new forum for NEW YouTube finds is something I'd endorse. And anyone who wants to re-post an old link would be welcome to do so.

Fair enough?

Iwas thinking along the line of

New Youtube posts:

Then you could chose which thread you wanted.

Supergirl

WW

Mary Marvel

Other or what have you.

Maybe DC

Marvel

Other

It would be up to the posters.

I don't think that Admin would have to do much work here. We all understand that youtube links come and go, so there would be no need to go in and "fix" or remove any broken ones. Maybe a disclaimer about that at the very start.

OK.... rest assured, I would never have proposed anything involving work for myself. This is about taking "You tube findings" up one level - so it is no longer a thread on the "Superwomen in the movies" forum, but is actually the heading of a forum in its own right (like "Superwomen in the movies" already is). Other people, who aren't me, could then START NEW THREADS in that forum for each clip/type of clip they find and want to share. The only work I'd be doing is watching the clips.

Hope that clears it up and maybe helps a few people decide how to vote.

Yes, I'm all for it. Heck, I might post a few that catch my attention every few days.

And even if the clip is on the internet on something other than YouTube, you could still post it on the YouTube Forum under the appropriate thread. My computer doesn't care what address it clicks on, as long as it goes to a "Super" Place so to speak!

Yes this is what I was thinking of. Sort of supergirls on the net forum. Not just YouTube. :)

It's a good idea ~ I jump onto youtube once or twice a week to see if anything new has cropped up.

Is the voting over on this?

Is the new forum going up shortly?

Just wondering...
