It was suggested a couple of months back that the site might start providing ebook versions of stories. Creating ebook files isn't all that much trouble as there's software like the open source MobiPocket Creator around (Amazon's recommended ebook creation tool), and Calibre, but sticking it up on this site seems a bit of a waste.
I'd like the propose a more profitable alternative. Amazon has a book store just for small novella length texts called "Kindle Singles". These books retail at 99c I think. Apparently it can be quite profitable.
Let's assume various authors here, whose work is not otherwise encumbered by copyright, would be open to contributing reworked/undated/extended versions of their fanfics to be included in collections of short superheroine stories, sold on the Kindle store as 'Singles' under the Superwoman Mania imprint? The profits (if there are any) from such a venture could be used to help fund the site -- and (here's the nice part) if the books really make a good return we might put the money into financing a photo shoot or even video, scripted (naturally) by the story author's whose works helped make it all happen.
Just a thought...
