It might help get people to meet up in the chatroom if there was a way to see how many people were already there from the forum or the SWM home, like there was over at ubergirls.org.

Is it possible to put such a display on the forum home somewhere?

it would be cool if you could manage something like that, where it's visible if the chatrooms are empty or not..
