A demo of acceleration by hair.

Flying by generating force so you can move around seems more effective than floating in zero gravity.

Thank you so much!
I love this video.
Hollywood insists on giving actresses buzz cuts when playing astronauts.
When in reality American female astronauts are proud to wear their hair long.

Two reasons to not see it in movies:

1) CGI hair is really compute intensive, especially in zero G

2) Zero-G is really hard to create on a soundstage with real hair.

It's pure practicality.

But not forever.

CGI will reach the point where its easy and realistic and can be used for everything. But we aren't there yet.

The danger of long hair and skydiving

A super villain could cause all sorts of mischief with a few strands of super hair, that could probably damage any machinery that swallowed it without a hair filter to catch it...

From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbarella_(film)   To film its striptease introduction, Fonda said that the set was turned upward to face the ceiling of the soundstage. A pane of thick glass was
laid across the opening of the set, with the camera hung from the
rafters above it. Fonda then climbed onto the glass to perform the
scene. [25]

Thanks for posting that - I didn't know Kylie did a Barbarella tribute.  Her make-up is scary, but the rest of the video is a good fit for that chillaxed song..
