Found out about it from the Supergirl Forever website.

"Yep - That's right. Intuition, a shop in downtown L.A. has released a line of designer clothes based on Supergirl. Here's the link. Hopefully there's more to come too! The talk of the Supergirl film in the video above is interesting too. It's just fun to see women as well as men interested in the iconic character. Many of us have heard the rumblings of a Supergirl film, but it's interesting to see the reactions of some georgeous faces in Hollywood like: Adrianne Palicki, Arielle Kebbel, Gabrielle Reece.

Blog

So here's the first one. It's a link to Amy Angelwings blog 'I'm Supergirl' ... Why Supergirl Matters.

And there's also a response from pixiepalace.

Great find, Sarge... as I mentioned earlier, I think we're about to catch a wave here in American culture.

It's the convergence of the true realization of feminine empowerment (which took Gloria Steinam plus twenty+ years to really hit home.. had to start at birth) plus a bunch of girls who grew up in a digital age plus a surge of animation and comic book themes in movies.

The writers of the comic book finally got it, and completely changed the character to give her some hard edges and dramatic plots, and not just be a pale reflection of Superman who rescued cats from trees.

Supergirl is about to become really cool. Not just among comic book geeks, but in the mainstream.

Don't know the 'when' of a movie, but the 'if' is assured if the mainstream truly embraces her.

I especially liked Ami review of supergirl #20. She put into words my apparent dislike for the bad supergirl genre. And I know this forum is about superwomen but let me say that I'm a fan of Superman and I don't like how he is treated here.

How is Superman treated here anyway?

Hi Lastleaf. Love the "shoot first, ask questions second" approach...

There's all sorts of us here on SWM, some who "treat Superman well" and others (like myself) who, er, don't/wouldn't. Likewise, some of us are fans of "good" supergirls, some fans of "bad" supergirls and some like both. What unites us all is a love of superwomen.

Hope that answers your question.

Welcome to SWM!

Conceptfan is exactly correct. This is a place for 'Superwomen' fans. Wether or not there is a super male involved or not is not typically the center of any stories or concerns. I watch Smallville for example only when I hear there is an upcoming episode with an interesting (powerful) girl. Of course the regular females on that show always make it easy on the eyes.

Personally I prefer how Conceptfan deals with any male that he encounters in his writings.

Impressive. I'm confused about a couple of things.

1. Who runs this site

2. What's this Challenge business with Dec.31, 1969, and the pix -- great pix, but I don't see anything specific about a contest for SG lookalikes.

It seems the site is down right now. But the Admin of SWM has known about Supergirl Forever for a long time. It is on the updates page.

I believe I've emailed back and forth once or twice with the person running it but it seems he/she is low profile. Keeps some nice art images updated.

Everyone has his fantasy, thats why I keep an open mind. I know there are those that love the bad girls genre and I have nothing against them.

The question was rhetorical, I know how a "Superman" gets treated here.
He's not first priority thats for sure.

To conceptfan... well, I've read your stories from Empress Ria to Mileena's Diary. Heels get booed Heroes get cheered but eliciting No reactions is the worst of them all.

So to you "BOOOO!!!"

Great stories all!

Lastleaf, I'm flattered that you've read my stuff and thrilled that you seemed to have enjoyed some of it. You are so right about no reaction being the worst reaction. Your boos are music to my ears.

Yeah, it's true that Superman gets a raw deal here. I'd never really considered what that must be like for a fan of his. Maybe you could write a story redressing the balance. (As long as it features a superwoman or two prominently :) )
