PSW Random FX Update: Nowhere to hide

This one has been a battle to finish but I’m happy be able to finally share our latest release!

“Nowhere To Hide” is our first video in 1080p high definition. We skipped 720 and went for the big format. We got a new camera after saving up pennies and selling the old one and we can’t wait to share some of its features with you. The ability to film at 60fps progressive is one new feature and means I can have some fun on action takes. In fact there is a taste of it in this episode. This camera doesn’t film as well in low light. However, I now have the ability to control the gain in low light situations which can set a mood and controls the quality if bad lighting ever comes up so I’m excited.

“Nowhere To Hide” also shows off Michaela of course who is getting serious about fitness modeling and competitions. I’m really hoping we get to work together this spring. She loves being a heroine and Super Michaela is by far her favorite and it shows. She really is the character.

As with normal PSW videos there is a solid story we are developing to go along with the action. However, it’s not so involved you can’t jump right in and understand what’s going on so no worries there. I think we touched on most powers from flying to hearing and even talk about a fun twist on invulnerability - to power draining for one of the women.

I put some more time into this one and I hope it shows in the results. I love positive and constructive feedback on the technical aspects if you’ve got it.

"Project: Super Woman - Nowhere To Hide” " has landed.

As a long-time fan and owner of perhaps a dozen of your movies, I'm excited about your new camera! Michaela is a sensational supergirl, inhabiting the costume with sleek and curvy femininity and inhabiting the character with grit and a strong sense of what an on-screen heroine should be like.

You've certainly been one of the champs in the VFX/CGI department in his tiny niche of films, and have always turned out a quality product. Your pay model --that is, only buy what you want-- eliminates many of the worries and stresses that a subscription system might cause both you and your customers and frees you to take the time you need to coordinate with your actresses and make short films that are never, ever dull.

Please keep up the good work. I know you won't get rich doing this, but hopefully accolades from loyal customers and the movies themselves can help make up for the oh-so-razor-thin profit margin.

Thank you again. I'm a loyal customer for as long as you'll keep producing your films.

I got the Sony HXRNX70U to replace my Sony VX2100.

I can't recommend it 100% to be honest because of a few critical issues - but I do like working with it and it suits me for the price. I’d have to spend $2K more to get to the next level and I wasn’t okay with that.

I think the pro audio input and shotgun mic stands out as one major improvement over the prior camera in this video.

I tend towards Canon for still photography and Sony for video for some rational reasons – and also because I’m comfortable working with them.

For those who are wondering I'm having bandwidth issues with my ISP. It only took a few 250MB downloads to hit my no so "unlimited" after all bandwidth limit which has a rolling 24 hour cap. I'm working with the ISP now.

In the meantime does anyone know an ISP with truly unlimited BW? Not just advertised as such?

Fats: I've been tempted by Panasonic in the past also - but in this cycle they didn't have anything I liked in the price range.

The D3 or D4 would be a dream. I like Nikon bodies, but I prefer Canon glass. I shoot with a Rebel (Yawn) right now - and I am looking at a Canon 5DMkii or maybe the new Mkiii when they release its specs.

What country are you based in, as I'm in the UK and use BT's Infinity package (fibre optic)

Meh - I should not have typed "ISP" - I should have typed "Host." It was PSW's host that temporarily caused the issue - but they gave us a reprieve and we are good to go again. I’m back to thinking they are good to us actually. :)

Michaela is a total fox. Great future as a fitness model.

HD quality is a big improvement and the FX are improving with every new video. Hope to see some hovering in the next video.

Looking forward to the future carnage and destruction that I think is coming.

Sarge: There should be some hovering if I can pull it off, yes.

Sarge and Mo: Thanks very much for the positive feedback! The HD really is great I agree - it makes it harder to go back and watch the old videos now since they feel so small.

HD does make pulling off good looking FX harder however. With less pixels and more fuzz you could hide a lot of composition mistakes - not true anymore. That said – you can also add some fun detail to the FX that will actually be seen now – but that also means more time. However, the fans keep me motivated.

One note: The page is back down again – I had someone share their download link several dozen times. Kind of hard to argue to my host that it’s not abuse so I’m going to have to wait it out 24 hours. Since it is not the first time that individuals “support” is not welcome anymore and I'm looking into a broader fix. I'm sorry to those who are waiting.
