Update on what we are doing with AK material

Hi all,

The admins met today to have a chat about what we will do with the AK material that we have been collecting.

It's been given the title Project: old stuff

The project is as follows, I'm leading up the technical side of things with Woodclaw leading the content side of things, I’m going to create a new site that we will host here at SWM for old material that belongs to other Universes AK, AU and others, at this time we are going to work on AK stuff, the new site will be a joomla based site that will contain only a library and a feedback page,, there will be no forum or image gallery no comments section nor will there be any blog or IM system, it's going to be very basic but with function at it's core.

Woodclaw is going to be in charge of the seeding of the stories but is looking to develop a team, get in touch with him about that, I’m going to build the technical framework of the site, if you want to help with that please get in touch.

This new site will be for orphaned content not for stuff on currently maintained servers, the plan is to have a section for AK material a section for any AU material and if there is content from other sties that can be hosted then we can look at that.

This is going to be a long term project, I’m not expecting the site to go live for 2 months, this will give us time to test and sort any problems out.

As Fats said I'm looking for some help to handle the daunting task of formatting and fixing AK's stuff. As some of our authors know I'm a bit strict about formatting and grammar, because I firmly believe that if an online story should receive the same amount of care and attention of a professionally published one.

i would also like to add that the site will not allow people to register or log in, so the members who choose to help in the new project will all be admins, and have access to the backend of the site, full help will be provided by me.
