I guess this was part 3. I think I abandoned it to write the blog instead (we all know how that turned out! Although looking back, it wasn't completely devoid of content)

Linda's summer was spent on self discovery and improvement. She had graduated nearly top of her class with minimal effort, and she was ready to remake her own image for college. High school became bearable after the episode with the would be rapists. The mean girls left her alone after they heard that she had saved one of their own. Still, no longer would she have to hide her changes from people who already knew her; it was time to start over.

She spent a few days in the northern part of the world. Floating out of her bedroom window in the dead of night, Linda never had a destination in mind, as long as it was cold and isolated. Standing bare naked in the mountains, she felt and enjoyed the cold harsh winds that pushed against her body. It made her feel like she was stronger than mother nature herself.

Today, she stood at the base of a mountain, looking up and through the snow covered rock. In an instant, her pupils glowed red, and two hot beams sliced their way from bottom to peak, creating a sudden downpour.

Linda smiled before she exhaled a steady, cool stream of breath. The water nearest her froze over immediately, and the rest of it slowed to a crawl, solidifying as it reached the front. When the ice block she was creating became too high and the water started flowing around the sides, Linda tilted her head and imagined breathing even colder. The rest of the water flash froze in an instant. She turned her head from left to right, and all of the water she had created just a second ago froze to solid ice.

Surrounded on three sides by her own ice sculpture, Linda admired her handiwork. Seeing her reflection on all sides reminded her of that fateful day in the house of mirrors. She silently thanked whoever had given her these powers, and flew home.

She also spent the summer taking self defense classes. After a minimal amount of persuasion, she convinced Jenny to enroll with her. Linda realized how important it was to hide her strength if she wanted to avoid investigation. Nobody had asked too many questions about how a pair of criminals had gotten so beaten up, but Linda had peeked through police files and eavesdropped with her super hearing, and it was clear that they didn't believe the two criminals had gotten into an altercation between themselves.

The self defense classes were nothing fancy; they were taught how to inflict maximum pain with minimal strength in order to get away. Palm strikes, foot stomping, little things that took advantage of the fragility of the human body. The hardest part would be for Linda not to overdo it. She spent her time in the mountains practicing landing blows on rock without shattering them into a million pieces.

You know, I think I remember seeing this way back when. Are you going to go back to working on it now or something? That'd be great.

This is good to read Goobers, I hope to see some more in the future.

The blog was actually pretty good but, as usual, it requires some constant updates. Yet, it works better as far as the vignette format is concerned.

Dude,

Linda had a great point of view and your descriptions were awesome. I think you should hit it again. The blog was good and you could continue it.

Good Work! :woohoo:
