The honking of geese (a notebook)
Just think how dirty her feet would get walking around all day, easier to just have shoes you can take off when you get home rather than having to keep cleaning your feet.Does an invulnerable girl who can float and fly even NEED shoes?
Shoes seem overly "human" for a Kryptonian.

That's the point: She doesn't walk on the floor and thus doesn't get her feet any more dirty than her hands because of it.

I thought you might enjoy it.Team Becca here. Much better face I think over Cory. Fantasy photoshoot. Lovely.

After describing my costume drafts that way a few times I went and bought a photoshoot environment to render them in. Totally. Worth. It.
I think Becca's still a little overwhelmed by what a super shoot she's having. Seems like she wrapped up her business with her boyfriend pretty quickly and was ready to do some poses again, thank goodness. Taking another hour under the lights really brought out the best in her silhouette. I swear, she just keeps looking better and better! I suggested she try on some shoes but she says she likes the feeling of our concrete floor cracking when she squeezes her toes (we're gonna have to patch those holes later or I'll lose my deposit). Becca's a total pro, but she seems like she can be kinda pushy when she really wants something. I suspect she'll be having it her way a lot more often after such a great session. I mean who could push back, now? ('cept maybe Cory)
I'm pretty close to satisfied. The red leather's been dulled down a little (got rid of the metal flake, brought up the gloss a little). I found a precise model of the texturing used on the Man of Steel costume and was able to incorporate it into the blue areas. I chose to keep the crest texture-free, as that picks up light better with the metallic shading I've added. I was also able to create a custom normal map with counter-distortions to address rather full-bodied models (this is the first time I've tried that):
So really, the outfit is looking pretty good to me.

"Becca? I don't know if I'd do that. Those bulbs get pretty hot."
She ignored him, feeling inescapably drawn to the metallic light. The pleasure piercing through Becca's every cell was indescribable, washing from the silken skin of her now magnificent bust to the tips of her toes at the far end of her increasingly long, sleek legs. She reached out toward the platinum bulb. To just touch it directly for a moment.
"Oooh!" It was the breathy croon of a goddess being born.
That was the moment young Becca became nearly immortal, her sensual transformation into a Human-born Kryptonian now permanent and complete. Her delighted laughter shook the building as the literal Supergirl embraced the hundreds of years of fun, mischief, and maybe a little heroism stretching out in front of her.
And a little something for the muscle goddess crowd. That platinum light can really pack it on...

Need to find me one of those bulbs.
Looking forward to her fun, mischief, and possible heroism mixed in. But mostly the mischief.

Warning: Spoiler!CAUTION: Wearing this costume for more than several seconds may cause rapid beautification, total invulnerability, supersonic flight, godlike strength, insatiable libido, and a strong tendency towards incomprehensibly powerful orgasms. The manufacturer is not responsible for any overwhelming desire to save the world. If symptoms persist after removal, learn to live with it, it's probably permanent.
That's just a shapes test. I'm having some trouble getting smooth shoes to blend in and I'll need to work on the final colors and textures for a couple of hours. And don't worry, the model was extremely well compensated for helping out with this photoshoot. After a few hours of changing outfits and posing for renders, she thought she'd be pretty exhausted. Instead, she left feeling quite super!!This image is hidden for guests.

while I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment, the answer is "Fashion". Women wear things that are unnecessary for protection because they like how it looks.Does an invulnerable girl who can float and fly even NEED shoes?

OTH, it's nice to see a character with an alien viewpoint and experiences -- she just doesn't get hurt/sick/affected by anything -- reflect that in her life/outfit choices instead of just "dressing like everyone else".
Going barefoot and just floating around all the time would be cool -- but I always got the idea (like a lot of immigrants) Supergirl was a bit obsessed w/ fitting in -- thus boots and walking when she could be flying/floating everywhere.
So I like the idea of her being liberated from that and just doing what she wants (esp as Supergirl). She's accepted herself and her place in the human world and is free to be what she wants to be.

Well, since you asked...What a vision floating there like that. Lucky/unlucky BF. If she ever gets extra kinky she should try on some shiny latex looking boots. :0

Plus you get badass lines like "They're for protection, yes? You know I couldn't stub my little toe even if I kicked a bank vault with it, right?" There's also some nerd fun in her pointing out she gets better traction in bare feet than any boots are going to give her. And dirty? heat vision scrubbing in under 2 seconds, baby! So in some ways, it does all come back to fashion: Kara can look vulnerable and carefree and get away with it. There will also be the occasional "Ewww! What did I just step in?" "You could wear shoes." "Tempting. So tempting right now."while I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment, the answer is "Fashion". And in Becca's case, she's still enjoying the crackly-crunchy micro-damage she can cause just touching the fragile, fragile ground.

The silvery radiance from the Krypton Platinum spotlight had felt wonderful all afternoon. But she needed more! The awful possibility all of this might fade was too terrible to dwell on. Taking advantage of a pause in the shooting, she sidled furtively across the studio, 'accidentally' working her way closer and closer to the shimmering spotlight, feeling its powerful rays continuing to reshape, no, refine her! Gravity was no longer a challenge to her as she floated up directly into the path of the reflector, increasing the intensity of the light striking her flesh one-hundred fold.

Thanks Goose! The two works could be 'before' and 'after' effects after she begins to pull away after touching the hot lamp.
The photographer had been testing his camera equipment at the time, but fumbled and nearly dropped his zoom lens on the studio floor! "Umm....Becca? Emm...I think we may be shooting for a new audience demographic today... " as his voice dropped away into stunned silence at what he had just witnessed.

You've got the skills. I keep hoping you'll give a new classmate the bottle of Energized! shampoo and take us for another wet, slippery rideThe photographer had been testing his camera equipment at the time, but fumbled and nearly dropped his zoom lens on the studio floor! It's never too late for a reboot. Starting fresh and not repeating the same mistakes. Thanks Goose. Was good times writing her back in the day. Looking back now, I see I could have used some conditioner to reign in the gel a bit towards the end.

I can't say I really like it that much. While I think it's interesting the streaks recreate the SG 52/s odd boot-tops wrapping over the knee in an open diamond, the fine printing is obviously just chainmail patterning, when we have an established Kryptonian texture. Even Sylvia's costume above is more in keeping with recent DC movies. One splash of red at the top and then utterly monotonous blue. And the show-no-skin prudery is kind of undone by the insanely high cut look of the streaks running from her ribs to crotch.
I hope the actress can animate the look, because the costume department is doing her no favors.

In the case of that costume, I'm just surprised it's so monotone. I dislike the streaks of red down the arms, but the general absence of red except across the shoulders is...strange. Maybe they're actively trying to pull the eye up, because from the ribs down it's surprisingly shapeless. Final judgment awaits both a warm moving body in it and the cinematographer's deft hand, but it seems like there's some deliberate self-handicapping there.
