Conversation on adding stories from AK archive

I've never had AK's stories as part of Infinity Bridge, and Tarot never did either. He can't recall having had any contact from AK, and advises me that he'd never have published anything of AK's without his permission. The last person who could have been considered a curator was Lisa Binkley, who ran Infinity Bridge before Tarot, I am also advised by another party in confidence that AK himself has moved on, and doesn't want to surface to either approve or disapprove what's done with his archive. If I'm a curator, it's only of S.T. Mac's archive.

I'm dropping out of this discussion as well. Dru's apology aside it is a wake-up-call for me to have my motivations questioned so openly. This shows I am viewed more as a destructive element than a contructive one. And that hits a nerve.

Trying for the responsible reasoning is a bit hard if that happens to be the unpopular choice. It's an old habit of mine from a time where I had to consider the downsides more than I have to now.

Given that I have absolutely no obligation to take the responsible if unpopular stance here and considering my history of being the bad boy here I shouldn't have posted any argument here.

Since I'm involved in this, I thought I should maybe speak up.
I'm afraid that I don't have my emails with AK any more; I'm "fairly" certain he gave his permission back in 2010 because I wouldn't have proceeded without that.

HOWEVER, that was 6-7 years ago.

AK owns the intellectual property rights to these stories and it seems he's made some attempt to get them removed from the internet. Moreover, someone who knew him personal has voiced a strong opinion that these would have been his wishes. Permission given in 2010 to publish his stories can be revoked at any time, and the evidence would indicate that this has happened.

Because of my job, I do actually know a little about intellectual property rights and the fact is that without explicit permission to publish, or a statement that the works were abandoned, you can't do anything; the rights remain with the author.

As such, I'd suggest that posting any more of his stories would be in bad taste, and possibly leave the poster and the hosting site open to legal problems; I'm sure it wouldn't come to that, but it needed to be said.
