Throatlift descriptions in stories

14 Jul 2017 07:02 #55248 by JonX
Hey! On another thread we touched upon the description and dialogue of a throatlift in a story, from both the superheroine and "victim's" point of view. I wrote a story fairly recently where I tried to describe a throat lift, and the power dynamic that goes with it, and now I'm really really interested in the following:

Is anyone able to recommend any online story/fiction that contains a really good description (writing) of a throatlift? I'd love to have a read of work from other authors who have written much better descriptions than I have.

Thanks!

My fave topic! I know only some here like muscle in their superwoman, but I Dustybottums and spoonmaster have always had incredible descriptions.
I think Spoonmaster had a recent story on Amy's C that had a boyfriend/ girlfriend throatlift that was amazing in its description.
Would love to hear from others on this!

I always figured that a throat lift would end in a broken neck. After all, hanging has been the sure-fire way to kill someone since the invention of rope.

What is more interesting to me is to speculate on the ways two superhumans, or a superhuman girl and an ordinary man, could have sex that the rest of us can't. Sort of the ballerina or pole dancer fantasy multiplied by superstrength and superhuman flexibility, not to mention the ability to levitate.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend movie had a couple of examples (albeit more humorous than sexy, IMHO), with the moving bed crashing through the wall and the sex while falling from high in the sky), but there are many more imaginative ways.

In reality, you're prob right about a broken neck. But I like to bend reality just enough to make it possible, quite painful, but still possible. Check out Mike Snow's description in the Amy's C story preview for From Best Friends to Soulmates part 2. It gets at both how painful it is for the guy but also how ridiculously easy it is for the girl!

I disagree with the broken neck. The reflex action to protect yourself would be to grab the arm of the lifter with both hands to take the wt off the neck. You will note in most westerns the hands are generally tied behind the victim's back before they swat the horse on the rump. You sufficate. When you are dropped from the gallows, your neck is suppose to snap.

throatlift is possible without killing the person, in the matter of the hanging rope, the noose is what does it, the knot at the back of the neck compresses the neck at the second and third vertebra and causes them to separate and sever the spinal cord, the other method that's already been mentioned is the process of strangulation that happens when the person is dropped slowly, the rapid decent is the preferred method of hangmen as it breaks the neck and is quick and painless.

You may be right, but I'm not about to volunteer to hang by my neck (or suffer a throatlift) to prove that it's harmless. On the other hand, as I've gotten old, I've shrunk an inch due to compression of my spine. Maybe that's what I need to get everything stretched out again. But somehow I think my doctor might argue otherwise. <grin>

Don't want to prop up a thread no one cares about. But a few thoughts:
The pic above is what frustrates sometimes about throatlifts. Whether on video or just a pic, when the person being lifted' scented of gravity is off it looks like they've got a harness attached at the waist. Same thing in videos (though I love that there's content out there actually doing this sort of thing - so can't complain too much). The toughest thing it seems is to actually make it look like the person is dangling from their neck and that gravity is pulling their body down.
That said, any other descriptions out there people like of throatlifts? I thought the original question was a good one.

It looks like their center of gravity is off - what I was trying to say above.

I understand why amateur videos, photos look wrong, given the only ways to simulate it are to have someone stand on a platform that is removed in post-prod, or hang them from the waist or in a harness. Body dynamic looks all wrong.

But a pure CGI representation, or a drawing like the one I posted on top of that building, could get it right, but I've never seen one that did.

Bottom line, it's a genre trope that's interesting to some people, but rarely done realistically. Largely because it can't be.

I wandered off in Google to read some bodybuilding blogs that talked about whether it was even possible to do a throat lift. Their conclusion was that except in the case of the strongest male bodybuilder and the lightest possible female, let's say 80 pounds or so, it's physically impossible given human strength and dynamics. And even then it would require a wide stance and very specific postures that we never see in the recreations. And it's WILDLY beyond possibility for even the strongest woman lifting a man.

But then, that's why it's a ubergirl trope. It clearly requires superhuman strength. Duh.
