What I want for Xmas.....sequels!

What I want for Xmas.....sequels! was created by lfan
OK, thought things were a little quiet on the story front so in true fashion, I decided to nudge some people and get some discussion going. Here is a poll of which stories I would personally like to see sequels made to, and was wondering what everyone else thinks.....

I had to limit the list somehow, so please don't think this was all-inclusive! Something not on here? Speak up! Maybe the author is listening.....

Some commentary on my selections:

Ascension
======
Taliesan, such a great start out of the gate! Then you went underground! I think, based on the posts, several people enjoyed it. More, more!!

Ayami
====
Cannot have too many Asian supergals running around I suppose! Hope this fun romp isn't indefintely on hiatus by one of SWM's new authors!

A New Leaf
=======
Helix, another person that has disappeared of late (though not unique for that occurance round these parts :P). Perhaps my favorite story by a new author all year, and derved winner of one of the contests! More of Katie Thurman, please!!

Christina McCallister
=============
My fav all-time story and what got me inspired to start writing (I know, I've mentioned it several times). Then, a wonderful sequel out of the blue by another "agent". Big time, cliffhanger guys....needs to be followed up! PLEASE!

Infinity Crisis
========
DKC's The Project is a favorite by many and I think IC is on its way to being jsut as good, if not better. Last chapter was hopefully short, meaning there is much more to come....yes?

New Captain Marvel
=============
By Spunk, who had never written before this (to my admitingly limited knowledge) gave us a great piece of RARE ubergal-inspired Mary Marvel-esque fiction (along with BW). Such a great start....thoughts of continuing?

Oh No III
======
An oldie from Marknew that might not be my favorite from him but begs for a sequel as to how Super Joanna could torment him going forward. Mark rarely, if ever, writes sequels so I'm not pinning hopes on this one, but doesn't hurt to ask! :)

Randolph & Kim
===========
Classic CF fare with some good thought in the character setup. About time for a string of sequel chapters....

Serena
=====
'Nuff said! A source of inspiration for several writers as they have mentioned. Yosh, time to get back in the game! :P

OK....any other thoughts? Ones I left out?

I am eagerly waiting for Supergirl Issue Two by DKC to hit the stands so to speak (along with The Project and IC#3 of course).

I have read Oh No III about a Zillion times so I voted for that one, but I am sure like many others I am also very eager for the next chapters of those stories listed above and on the poll.

A very clever idea for a poll!

Lfan, I second many of your requests -- but you've barely scratched the surface. This genre is strewn with promised sequels that never seem to materialize. Here's my "wish list":

AK -- "Accidents Will Happen" ... though a continuation of just about any of your stories is cause for celebration!

Anterion -- I wrote a sequel to "Sebia" ("Dungeons and Damsels"), but it didn't capture the charm of the original.

BW -- You've told me your ideas for some new "Mindi Marvel" stories. I hope to see them in the StoryBank soon!

Conceptfan -- With all due respect to your other girls, I think "Empress Ria" is overdue for an update. Ria rules!

Grayface -- Will we ever see more of "The Rule of Five"?

Lfan -- Darers go first! How about a new chapter of "Zupergirl"?

Mikey Freedom -- "Bolt from the Blue" ... though I've enjoyed all your stories.

And finally ...

Argonaut -- I know that Atalanta isn't to everyone's liking, but she has a number of fans and I'm still committed to the character ... even though it's been a year since I posted the Prologue to her new series. One of my resolutions for 2007 is to finish the first chapter of her "Labors."

You suppose? Sounds like a lack of enthusiasm to me. Just for that, I'm gonna have to triple my quota for transforming Asian girls into superwomen this month!

Seriously though, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing some more "Randolph and Kim". Just my opinion, but Conceptfan might have written the perfect example of what a super bad girl should be with Kim.

Hope we don't have to wait too long!!

As for Kim, well CF has a good blueprint for the ideal bad girl -- his sick and twisted imagination.... 8)

Heh, I just got a vision in my head of the start of a video with Randolph and Kim. First a shot of Kim, maybe doing something impressively uber. Suddenly there's a freeze frame and the words "Kim (Invincibleus Babeius)" are superimposed. After a few seconds, the playback resumes as the words disappear and the camera pans over to Randolph setting up some kind of gizmo. Again a freezeframe and the words "Randolph (Mastermindus Persistentus)" appear.

Despite that funny sequence playing in my head, I had no choice but to vote for more of Serena's Lucky Day. What little there is of it is awesome, definitely the work of a genius, and I'd love to see more of it.

OMG, I nearly spit out my diet coke when I read that!

SO many GREAT choices. However, Randolph and Kim always has wondering what Randy is going to try next. I'm voting as such.

I always love what DKC does. Fun stories.

- Alexa's serie started with "Goddess club"

Randolph and Kim: the 'Toon

(with apologies to the late, great Chuck Jones ... oh, and Conceptfan, too ... )

Scene 1

Half a dozen large crates are sitting by the side of a desert highway. Each is labeled "ACME GIANT ROBOT (SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED)." Randolph, perspiring in the desert sun, is prying open one of the crates with a crowbar.

Freeze frame. Caption: "Randolph (Genius obstinatus)."

Fade to: Close-up of Randolph tightening a bolt with a wrench. The camera pulls back to reveal that he has just finished assembling a 30-foot-tall robot. Randolph carefully inserts his "Sherman crystal" into a compartment in the robot's arm, then climbs into a console in the robot's chest.

Cut to: Kim (wearing a blue bikini) running at super-speed along the highway. A freeze-frame captures her in mid-stride. Caption: "Kim (Babeus stupendus)." End freeze-frame.

Kim stops short just a few feet away from the giant robot. She places her hands on her hips and looks upward.

Randolph, leering triumphantly, pulls a lever on the control panel. Slowly, ponderously, the robot raises its right arm, pointing it at Kim.

Kim propels herself straight upward by pushing her bare toes against the surface of the highway. Up, up she rises until she's eye-to-eye with Randolph, who glares at her through the window of the console and begins pulling more levers.

Kim, still suspended in mid-air at the peak of her ascent, extends her right arm and flicks her forefinger against the robot's chest.

Instantly, the robot flies apart -- clang! -- leaving Randolph hanging in mid-air for a moment before gravity pulls him downward.

Kim descends lightly, gracefully. Randolph is prostrate amid the wreckage of his robot. Kim giggles once -- "tee-hee!" -- in the cadence of the Road Runner's "beep-beep!" ... then runs off in a blur of super-speed.

Scene 2

Desert roadside. Randolph has just opened a crate labeled "ACME FREEZE RAY (ADULT SUPERVISION RECOMMENDED)." He takes out a gizmo resembling a toy ray-gun. He aims it at a boulder and pulls the trigger. Instantly, the boulder is encased in a sheath of ice several inches thick.

Nodding with satisfaction, Randolph squints down the empty highway.

Cut to: Kim (wearing a red bikini) running at super-speed along the highway.

Alerted to Kim's approach by a low rumbling sound, Randolph pulls the trigger of his freeze ray, trapping Kim in a large block of ice just as she is about to run past.

Randolph puts down his freeze ray and begins rummaging through his rucksack, tossing various tools and gadgets over his shoulder as he searches desperately for the Sherman crystal.

A cracking noise makes him pause and look back over his shoulder apprehensively. A network of cracks is spreading across the block of ice. Suddenly, the block explodes into fragments as Kim frees herself with a twitch of her muscles.

Before Randolph can pick up the freeze ray, Kim blows a gust of frigid super-breath at his loins, encasing them in a diaper of ice. Pausing only to snicker -- "tee-hee!" -- she runs off at super-speed. Blue in the face, teeth chattering, Randolph hobbles past a sign pointing to "HOT SPRINGS" and gingerly lowers himself into a pool of steaming water.

Scene 3

Desert roadside. Close-up of the cover of a book Randolph is reading: HOW ATALANTA KEPT THE BRIDGE, by Argonaut.

Cut to: Close-up of an illustration Randolph is studying -- the giant catapult atop the ridge overlooking the river.

Randolph begins scribbling furiously on a large pad of paper. Over his shoulder we can see a crude drawing of a catapult hurling a boulder at a bikini-clad figure, along with some physics equations. The camera pulls back to show a giant catapult set up by the roadside, loaded with an enormous boulder.

Cut to: Kim (wearing a lavender bikini) running at super-speed along the highway.

Cut back to Randolph. He is holding a pair of binoculars to his eyes with one hand and grasping the lever of the catapult with the other. The rumble of Kim's approach grows louder and louder. The ground begins to tremble, then shake. Randolph counts of the seconds on his fingers -- one, two, three -- then pulls the lever.

Cut to Kim. A shadow falls over her as she runs. Her eyes roll upward, but she does not break stride as she raises one arm over her head and catches the falling boulder lightly on the palm of her hand. She runs on without slackening her pace, holding the enormous slab of rock over her head like a waitress carrying a tray through a busy restaurant.

Cut back to Randolph. He is still peering off to the left when Kim zooms past him with a "tee-hee!" He turns to watch her run off to the right, not noticing that she is no longer holding the boulder aloft. Then a shadow falls upon him. He glances upward, then blinks twice at the viewer. He holds up a sign -- "UH - OH!" -- as the boulder comes crashing down on him.

Scene 4

Desert roadside. Another crate, labeled "ACME SHRINK RAY." In his haste to unpack it, Randolph has allowed a page of instructions to fall to the ground unread. The camera zooms in on a line printed at the bottom of the sheet (in ridiculously tiny type): "Caution: Do not use on girls with super-powers."

Smirking with anticipated triumph, Randolph points the shrink ray at a boulder and pulls the trigger. The boulder shrinks to the size of a pebble.

A hand taps Randolph on the shoulder. Startled, he turns around. Kim (wearing a tangerine bikini) is looking down at him inquiringly. Randolph steps back and pulls the trigger of the shrink ray, aiming at Kim's chest.

Kim's bikini top shrinks until the cups are dime-sized patches of cloth, barely large enough to cover her aureoles. Randolph's eyes extend several inches from their sockets and his jaw falls to the ground -- thud! -- as he stares at Kim's all-but-completely exposed breasts. Then, collecting himself, he raises the shrink ray a second time.

Kim looks out at the viewer, arching her eyebrows, as she inserts her forefinger into the muzzle of the shrink ray. Randolph pulls the trigger. The shrink ray explodes. Randolph, his hair disheveled, his face and shirtfront blackened with soot, blinks in dismay as he dwindles to the size of a cockroach.

Stooping, Kim picks Randolph up between her thumb and forefinger and dangles him in front of her face with a bemused expression. She giggles -- "tee-hee!" -- as Randolph, purple with rage, squirms in her grasp, shaking his tiny fist and shouting incoherent curses in a barely audible squeak.

Scene 5

Desert roadside. Another crate, this one labeled "ACME BLACK HOLE. CAUTION: MAY DESTROY FABRIC OF SPACE-TIME CONTINUUM."

Randolph, wearing goggles and protective gloves, has opened the crate. Very carefully, using a pair of tongs, he takes out the black hole -- an ebony orb about the size of a golf ball, suspended in a spherical force-field.

Gingerly, he places the force-field on a tripod set up in the middle of the highway. Leaning sideways, he puts a hand behind his ear and listens intently. Sure enough, he hears the low rumble that signals Kim's approach.

Cut to: Kim running at super-speed along the highway. She is wearing a yellow bikini with pink polka-dots.

Cut back to Randolph. Crouching behind a boulder, he points a remote-control device at the force-field and presses a button. The force-field shuts down and the black hole, hovering several feet above the surface of the highway, begins exerting an irresistible gravitational pull on objects all around it. Rocks, cactus, highway signs, an Acme delivery van -- all are sucked into the black hole and vanish.

Kim runs up to the black hole and stops abruptly. Hands on hips, she tilts her head to one side and gazes curiously at the strange object, utterly oblivious to the tremendous gravitational attraction it is exerting on everything except her.

Concealed behind the boulder, Randolph begins to insert the Sherman crystal into the transfer-ray. Suddenly, the crystal is pulled from his hand, drawn toward the black hole. Alarmed, Randolph reaches out and grabs the crystal ... but now he himself is caught in the black hole's gravitational field. Desperately, he digs the fingertips of his free hand into a crevice in the boulder as the black hole continues to pull at him.

Kim is still standing casually a few feet in front of the black hole, unaffected by the immense gravitational forces swirling around it. The polka-dots fly off her bikini and disappear into the black hole. Then the black hole begins tugging at the bikini itself. First the top, then the bottom, are pulled off Kim's body and sucked into the black hole ... but Kim continues to regard the object with bemused indifference.

The black hole begins to pulsate erratically, locked in a losing struggle against the nubile teenager. Instead of drawing Kim toward itself, it begins to be drawn inexorably toward her. It strives mightily to resist, to retreat -- but its efforts are futile. Finally, it gives up the titanic struggle and plunges helplessly toward Kim's midriff. It flattens upon impact with Kim's super-hard abs and falls limply to the surface of the highway.

Randolph stomps forward, sputtering incoherently, outraged by Kim's casual disregard for the laws of physics. He walks up to her, shaking a finger in angry expostulation. Standing on the flattened remains of the black hole, he suddenly realizes that there is nothing supporting him. Blinking helplessly, he holds up a sign -- "YIKES!" -- as he plunges out of sight.

Kim leans over and gazes down the hole for a second, then giggles -- "tee-hee!" -- and runs off at super-speed. As she zooms off, trailing a cloud of dust behind her, the words "THE END" are superimposed on her bare backside.

Th-th-th-th-that's all, folks! :wink:

Ugh. What's with everyone voting for mine? It's very flattering, but...

I've tried & tried & tried & tried to pick up where I left off, and I just can't seem to catch the inspiration bug again. It sucks trying to force it when it's not there.

I guess I owe it to all of you to try harder though. It's just... really... nothing I come up with is even close to as good as the first, very inspired piece I wrote all those years ago. And I'd hate to think I'm putting out an inferior 2nd chapter now just because people are asking for one.

Still... I've recently found I have time & space again to write, so I'll try to get another chapter written, I promise. Keep in mind though, I work according to the inverse pressure principle: AKA - the more people bug me about 'when are you gonna have the next part finished,' the slower I go. I'll do my best though! (I'm not giving any timelines and I don't want to be asked!)
