Daphne Orgone is back!

Not really a "new" writer, but taking a new approach to superheroine fiction.

Daphne has just launched a new blog about a Nordic superheroine in a medieval fantasy setting:

Her previous blog, SuperDaph, was about a super-teenager here in the USA. But Fiona of Fail is something really different. She's off to a great start. Let's encourage her!

By all means feel free to encourage me, comment and offer suggestions. Fiona is not really a superheroine, but I'm sure she'll appeal to some here even if my intent is to make the themes a little different.

I'm also not planning on always maintaining a first person perspective and have already started working on at least one character to flesh out themes more quickly, but I'm not sure how he'll work out yet, or if it's premature to add him.

Your comments are most appreciated, even if I don't do anything about it immediately. One of my goals here is to let a much older and more sophisticated Fiona tell her tale, and in my haste to get something out there to start out with, I probably didn't pay enough attention to tone. I'll try and do better in the future, although, quite frankly, I'm not trying to write real literature here and probably will remain fairly lazy about some things, like dialog and accents.

Mixing too much of a modern or informal tone is definitely not something I want to do, and I will work on that, but at the same time, what's going through my head is that even as an adult, Fiona's not likely to be one who writes her own material. Can I blame some problems on her scribe/secretary? Please????

Y'all feel free to talk about Fiona to your friends if you want. I'm not going to try advertising myself for awhile but the feedback makes writing more fun.

About 200 page views so far, with roughly 100 from this site. The stats are little off I think because I didn't tell it not to count my own views until last night, but I'm actually pleased.

Its a little disheartening to have no comments yet, but then again, nothing has really happened that's worth commenting about, and I'm really guessing that those hundred or so non SWM views are bots or something. There were only two views from google.

I could add a link at The Bright Empire, and mention that in my next site update. My What's New page usually gets a lot of hits. I guess at least a few people followed the link from AURG, but it's hard to tell -- hardly any of the members there take part in discussions. That seems to be the case with Yahoo groups generally.

That would be great and I'm not forgetting about didn't doing something for the bright empire specifically. Fiona will be sure to have all sorts of adventures, some of which should work well there.


At the moment though all I've got for her is stuff from her childhood. But, eventually there will be more to tell.

Four more chapters up, as of this morning. The story is getting really complicated, as a good story should.

Chapter 14 up today, and she's fixed a glitch so that the chapters all appear in the right order. Some corrections of punctuation and other minor errors. It's a great story.
