Harry Mudd has clearly upgraded his lovely crew (originally his cargo) to superstrong androids, now that he owns an entire planet.
I have to admit, my ideas regarding Velorian Companions (starting writing in the late 80's) and Frau'liset androids (90's writing) along with pheromones were stolen from Mudd's women in '66 and '67, back when I was still in high school. Starting with pheromones and visual stimuli in the first Star Trek "Mudd" episode (don't remember if they originally were androids or not), and the beauty and superstrong androids in this later episode. They also appear in an animated show I haven't seen.
My theory... always steal ideas from the very best. For me, that was the original Star Trek seasons.
Also interesting that an early episode featuring Kara on Smallville TV involved her crushing a "communicator" (cell phone) in exactly the same way. When I saw that, I immediately thought of the old Star Trek. Don't know if the writer and director on Smallville was inspired by the same thing or were independently re-inventing the scene, but the crushing of the communicator sure reminded me of Mudd's androids.

from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I,_Mudd the androids operate with a "hive mind" and they want more humans to "study"
Could they have evolved into the Borg?
Captain Kirk is under extreme pressure from 2 of the "Alice" androids.
