Totally new to Patreon. How do you buy it? DO you have to subscribe or can you download it after paying and getting a link?

Well, it is something between deviantart and kickstarter... you subscribe (monthly) and what you get depends on the artist's goals... in the page, you have open posts and paying you get the patron's posts... in this case, you can download each story in a zip file even in the "Pledge $1 or more per month"...
