Was waiting for an article that compared them head to head.....wait's over.

Personally, while Supergirl on TV has almost been a vision quest of mine for the last X number of years (won't date myself, but X > 20), I'm really excited for Jessica Jones almost as much. It hink the tones of the shows would be at far ends of the spectrum so I'm curious to see which one I'll like more.

That is the fun part... having two shows of opposite tones that will show in parallel to each other, more or less. After such a long dry-spell of TV shows about our favorite genre, we seem to have an embarrassment of riches about to descend upon us. Especially given the movies in the queue (or potentially in the queue) for 2016/17.

I guess all good things come for those who wait. We certainly tried to keep the pot boiling, but the real forces behind this super-heroine surge are a bit mysterious. I'm still surprised by so much movement all at once.

A year from now we may have some perspective on it all, but one thing we know for sure is that trends come and go. So we have to enjoy it while its here.

Shadar, for people like us who have been around the genre for a while, I like to think we've paid our dues and are finally getting are karmic return! :)

Personally I am rooting for Supergirl to be a smash, cross genre hit.

But Jessica Jones may be the Dark Horse that steals the buzz.

Can you believe we have TWO shows at this time?!

Yeah really looking forward to both shows :)

Also, if I remember correctly, Jessica Jones is releasing ALL episodes on Netflix on its premiere date of 20th November. So if you can't wait a week to see each episode, you can binge on the series (like me :P). Supergirl will have to be a 1-per-week viewing (far as I can tell), but anywho, like others here, waited long enough for this so will be a huge enjoyment :)

Roll on the November :D

Peace.

I agree with Shadar, even if it's a fad I'm happy it's happening. I hope we get a couple seasons out of it. I watch Marvel shows, and some darker superhero shows but with the exception of Batman I just don't follow them with the same zeal I would a Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Stargirl, Etc. Even so, I just don't see the need for bashing the different character styles or getting into this vs that flame wars.
