More Superman than Superman?

Fro m what I've read about Supergirl season 2, it sounds like the show is going to taking more and more from the Superman comics mythos than ever before. It looks like Kara will be a reporter for the Tribune, a Catco owned newspaper that Cat Grant talked about shutting down in the season 1 opener.

Supergirltv.com posted some dialogue of Supergirl speaking to Lena Luthor, and I swear it was something straight out of a John Bryne 1980s Superman book.

I can't help but get the feeling Team Berlanti really hate what WB pictures and Singer, Goyer and Synder have done with Supeman are trying to make their own Superman with Supergirl as a substitute with less money media hype.
