Season 1 vs season 2 was created by andyf
For everybody here whos seen all of season 1 and 2 and is going to watch season 3, which season overall was better, 1 or 2?
As for myself, I think season 1, despites its flaws, was just a little better than season 2.

Cat Grant, and James before he was put in charge and did the whole superhero thing, were both very enjoyable. Watching Kara's relationship with Cat and James develop was well written and acted. My vote goes to Season 1.

But I'm a sucker for 'origin' kind of stories, so I'm probably biased.

I think my vote narrowly goes to S2, though it's hard as Cat Grant is awesome and there was more of her in Season 1. Her relationship with Kara was a thing they did right in S1. (Snapper Carr was something they got super right in S2.)

S2 showed definate signs of learning, the show became aware of it's flaws, and started to address them.

I forget which comic book creator tweeted it, but he was talking about WW and Supergirl, and mentioned that in Supergirl he was upset as she always had to be rescued, often by her male collegues. One of the guys looked at his girlfriend and said "That's the reason you told me you were thinking about stopping watchign the show!".

So it's not just us that noticed those flaws, and I think the show began to address them and adjust. This gives me great hope for S3. I really wish there were some way to get more Callista Flockheart into S3.

At this point I'm tired of James, but he also might be learning to back off a bit, which might mean his storyline becomes less important.

I'm gonna have to go with Season 1.

There were characters that added to the world that seem to be missing in season 2. The big one being Cat Grant, but I also think Max Lord was pretty well drawn and played.

I also feel the writing overall was generally better. There were more character moments and touching scenes in the first season. And the season, naturally, focused on Kara a lot more.

The second season started of ok, but became a mess and seemed to right itself towards the end. So this bodes well for season 3 :)

I will be looking forward to season 3 especially with Reign as the antagonist :)

Peace.

I think that, despite the problems with the quality of the scriptwriting in Season 1, Season 1 had a better story and could appeal to a much broader audience (without the constant need to disenfranchise or patronize).

That would be me :)
I was comparing the FemForce and Supergirl.

I would have to say the last half of Season two was the best.
The ship seemed to be righted and heading in a forward direction.

I would say this:

Season 1 had a lot of flaws-A kind of Boring central plot, rk, and some weak technical issues i harped on a lot last year

And Season 2 i think did an okay job of adressing them. I think its a better looking show, and if they maybe did less special effects overall used them well. The Plot at least felt a little more suprising and wasn't telegraphed in the first epiosde(okay superman appearing in the last one was telegraphed but sure

it also introduced some new ones- i think the strength of the first seasons.

I think the big one was well Mon El. He was never a great character, or even a particularly good one. Conceptually they tried to have fun with making him darker Love intrest bad boy. James i think was okay as the love intrest-not amazing but fine-he was a good straight guy-and the desiion to write him out as love intrest but kept him on the show lead to the guardian plot which had a werid energy to it that never worked-and did introduce more superhero nonsense.

Loosing Cat-for what ever reason i also took away a lot of the "Hey i have a secret identiy" stuff that gave the show some heart. Since every major character essentially knew her secret it may as well not exist. they tried to do some of it in parts, but it never quite worked as much -and like the snapper carr episode wasn't bad but felt like an anomoly, to a show that didn't need it. The maggie Rommance worked well in the first half of the season not so well in the second-it was a better story when it was will they won't they, then after they would-if they had paced it a little better it would have worked better.

but it had some great stuff. I think the lena Luthor is hey my best friend, was a cute touch and they had good chemestry of superherp friend who maybe evil. It yes at times felt a bit like Smallville, but i liked Katie Mcgraths kind of playful chemestry as oposed to i am angst supergenis Micheal Rossenbaun. There was good stuff here and there that did work well-some cases very well. If Terri Hatcher has never been a good actor, and Sorbo rarely when they got to chew scenery it was neat. Linda carter was cute, and a lot of the small stuff like the martian stuff worked better then it should.

But i think its major problem was-it tried to fix what was wrong but kept some but not the good part-i donno. Its an honestly tricky question. My Gut today said the first season was the slightly better one if the first one had plenty of bad episodes and goofy monsters....but i am not going to fault it for trying. in Season 3 i hope they can figure out better balance here.
