Could Reign become superwoman??????
Comicbook.com has proposed the following theory
Samantha's transformation arc will take fans by surprise. With that in mind, we couldn't help but wonder: could Samantha eventually be headed for a redemption arc? And could it turn her into Superwoman in the process?
Could we see SG and SW in the same series or could we see a spin-off?
It would be a major boost if they did something outrageous like that, but could it work?
More on their theory here

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I'm hoping they do go for that route as Odette Annabel is amazing imo
Peace.

Maybe it'll be like the early Ms Marvel comic where Carol Danvers and Ms Marvel had little awareness of the other, and Carol disliked and even feared the moments when she'd lose control and this other persona would violently take over, leaving her exhausted and confused about what had happened.
It made for an interesting story, and over time the two personas learned to live with each other, slowly merging, but the idea of redemption gets blurry when the bad side doesn't even acknowledge the other persona.
It remains to be seen how Sam and Reign are handled. Starting off, I doubt they will be aware of the other, and something will trigger her switching back and forth.
Of course, the usual plot device is for the bad persona to be challenged by something where the good persona has to break through. Likely saving Ruby will be the impetus for that. It's not a new theme and good writing or not, this is what most fans will look for. The idea of Good conquering Bad, even if it's only momentarily. That provides the viewer with hope of redemption.
I'm betting that Reign will remain the Big Bad to the end of the season and beyond. Given how much work and time has gone into creating her as the foil for Kara, a villain she'd can't just punch out, I would think that Reign would become a multi-season Big Bad.
They tried to do that with Kara's aunt in Season 1, but the writers devolved into the three-act villain of the week format which killed any kind of continued storyline. As others have mentioned, the formulaic Act 1 (villain is bad), Act 2 (Kara gets beaten up), Act 3 (she saves the day with the help of her friends). Rinse and repeat each week.
Continuing to develop Reign could ensure that we NEVER go back to that idiotic storytelling.

Good girl goes bad is my least favorite story line of all.
It seems to very popular in this genre.
If Sam is "Good" and Reign is "Bad" and they have two distinct personalities, the only possible outcome is that Sam sacrifices herself to stop Reign.
The episode "Fallen" from way back in season one (isn't it cool to say that?) is easily the worst episode of the series in my opinion.
Supergirl goes bad but she never really goes BAD if you know what I mean.
That would have been the end of the series.
It looks like Reign is going to go BAD.
So we will see what happens.

But in my mind, the mere presence of Imra seems to point to Super Samantha traveling to the future and joining the Legion. I think that would be cool, because Kara could visit them or they could visit her.

Hmm, I never thought of that. Good point.
turn bad Reign into nice Samantha with super powers, or at least de-power Reign and bring back “normal” Samantha.
I too am in this camp
Peace.
