Those who know for the last while i have tried my hand at writing Cinematic Fan Fiction. The Concept is if i was the studio in charge of making these things how i would handle them. Paradise was a Warner Brothers Cinematic Universe take on Wonder Woman. She Hulk was an MCU style action comedy.

I have tried to keep at it-But a Fox Xmen Style Rouge Story hasn't come together, wanted to do a Sony inspired Silk movie thats partially becuse i have no idea how Sony Does its movies any more, and a Lionsgate if it has the rights to She Ra story has run into a problem of a story of Justifed Betyral and Shifting Loyalities-there a lot of silly names in She Ra. A lot of silly names.

But then i realized not just movies-but....

Power Girl idea is its a pilot story for a WN Greg Bertaili style Television Show.

And i found it kinda worked better then i thought it would. Karen Starr is in someways a very good character for TV. When done right she is sympathetic-but not entirely likable. She is Arougant Smug, Brusque and conviced of her own morality-which you know make in line with Mad Men, and all of its ilk. That she does want to help people at her core does not completly rub off her rough edges, which i did my best to keep in. And also the way that she can't quite fit in with humanity, and does and doesn't want to.

I think one of the flaws of Supergirl is that it does feel little beholden to the Superman stuff which doesn't help it story so i removed all the refrences to him or krypyton keeping it delibreatly vauge. I think if Bertali wrote the story he may have put in a little more action in the pilot, but the nature of the story meant that i did two big action scenese-one in the middle one at the 30 minute mark and one at the end.

In any case this is a one of story. Its just a pilot. i have ideas of how i would continue this story forward every 8 or so stories changing dramatically the stakes....but well they would involve getting it picked up as a TV Show.

Pretty interesting story... you've worked hard to capture a neat vibe in her arrival and actions later on, and the juxtaposition of current and past works for me. I think you've captured a very interesting PG/Karen concept here. One that resonates with me.

The key is that Karen is nothing like Kara, other than sharing some related genetics. They think, act, etc. completely different. In many ways, Karen has Kal's intelligence from the golden era, along with his advanced Kryptonian tech, but struggles with emotions and relationships.

Kara is completely the opposite. She's not a techie, she's not unusually smart, she has zero Kryptonian tech (most of the time anyway) but she's got a very high EQ. She's very human. She'd be easy to work with or have as a friend.

Karen, in contrast, is someone who'd be very hard to work for, impossible to date, and generally would be a little intense to be around. But I like that.

As I've said many times, Karen/PG is a male gender in an exaggerated female body. She thinks, acts and has the emotions of a very action-oriented man. A professional athlete kind of mental image. But her body is anything but male. Which makes her fun.

As usual your prose/punctuation/spelling is hard to get through, but I find there is a way to read it without dwelling on the words that allows me to grok the story intent and flavor without letting the details get in the way.

Praise from Cesear:)

I am not sure you picked up the line i considered a parody of your work where She looks down at her breasts and talks about storing vast amounts of energy....in an orgone behind her kidneys.

I don't necessarily see her as Male, but someone with what we consider a very aggressive personality coming from a planet where gender roles aren't as defined. Its one of the ironies-We may consider her as this great example of Femaleness-but she barely has any concept of it at least internally.

The same day i put the story there was another one about power girl and the idea of getting power girls body which was fascinating to me as they are completly 100% diffrent-becuse i took the postion that Power girl looks like she does-and fundementally doesn't care that much about it .

Which goes to kinda why shes an intresting character, especially in a TV concept.

I did see your reference to looking at boobs and then saying she stored her energy behind her kidneys. I chuckled but forgot to mention it. I saw what you were doing. <grin> But behind the kidneys? What the hell is back there?

Whether she's a male gender in a female body or just a very aggressive female without any concept of what it means to be female... kind of the same thing. There is so much complexity in gender definitions today, most of which I'm blissfully ignorant of as a cis-male (see, I know one word), but even before all that, I've always seen her as more kick ass and prone to using her fists than even Superman.

The cool part of Karen is that she's incredibly smart and driven and loves applying Kryptonian technology. She founded her own tech firm and she's got stuff that blows everyone else away. As a retired techie, I like that too. She's always been a favorite, but so damn hard to write about. But you are doing well at it, Castor.

We agree that she doesn't care about how she looks. If anything, the mega-boobs get in the way, although given the way they are nearly hanging out, she does benefit from putting some male bad guys off their stride. And her exaggerated body does match her personality, whether she'd ever admit that or not. I liked the more recent comic series with Huntress where she's extremely sexual, but she chooses her mates much like a womanizing man. She's the assertive one who borders on abusive. I suppose if most of us had that body, and her invulnerability, we might do the same.

Anyway, nice story and good conceptualization on your part in handling a challenging character. I think she'd do great on TV if they really emphasized how different she was, physically and mentally, than Supergirl. But finding an actress who could convincingly play her would be challenging. Body and personality have to match. And the writers would have to be as bold as you are.
