Thanks to this on-location photo, sent to us by dedicated fan Todd Aprils (thanks Todd!), we can now
exclusively reveal that Streaky the Super Cat makes an appearance in the season finale. Could he be the evil genius who is ultimately behind Myriad?
Streaky's appearance on the show has long been teased by EP Ali Adler. Our inside sources say that Adler -- who owns several cats at her Los Angeles home -- has been advocating bringing the super feline onto the show since the pilot got picked up early in 2015. Originally Comet the Super Horse was to join Streaky, but this proved too much of a technical challenge. Our source explained "
basically the video effects guys said 'you can have a CGI horse, or a CGI Martian Manhunter, but you can't have both', and [Executive Producer] Andrew Kreisberg won the day on that one." The original plan was that Streaky was to be Astra's pet, and Comet was to be Supergirl's -- when the expense of having both pets became apparent, Greg Berlanti apparently suggested that only Streaky be used, as a shock season finale guest.
Further speculation (again fueled by inside sources) hints at Adam West as the voice of Streaky, although another source has suggested that West was unavailable due to last minute scheduling conflicts. I guess we'll find out when Better Angels airs in 18 days..!!
