Be cautious on your source of information about northern Europe. The government crime statistics don't show large changes, but the Far Right in Europe is pumping the dialog up as part of their anti-immigrant rhetoric with a lot of inflammatory but incorrect data.

As opposed to the controlling left who cover up stats and fudge data?

Like I said Shadar, I will agree to disagree. I live in Europe and have family and friends all over it. Their experience says otherwise. And I can tell you from my experience, the UK has changed a LOT.

Someone in the thread said M'yrnn J'onzz dies saving the team...

That would be me :D

I'm pretty sure it will happen. Looking forward to next weeks episode and seeing Odette Annable again :)

Peace.

The left and right are both responsible for their fair share of misinformation. Both sides push their own political agendas and facts get skewed. The criminalization of regarding Polish Death camps (In Poland) is a prime example of this. What's happening in Syria is another prime example - God forbid anyone suggest that Assad might not be responsible for the chemical attack, otherwise you'd be considered a troll, a foreign agent or a number of other interesting characterizations.

One of my favorite quotes is "Doubt is an unpleasant condition, but certainty is absurd"

It seems to me, we need much doubt in our politics than any degree of certainty.

But back to the Toy man episode - I wrote an episode (Incomplete as always) for Supergirl, which dealt with obsession and Toy Man. They met in a mental hospital where the toyman advised obsession of how she could share Supergirl powers, in order for Superman to love her. Obsession, played by Morena Baccarin, manages to pull the plan off. As shes immune to kryptonite. The group manage to defeat her by using the kryptonite on Kara (Which creates a sub plot on its own). Shouldn't have procastinated, now that story line is dead.

No it hasn't. The UK has problems with immigration, but the UK has always had problems with immigration. Shadar's analysis was pretty good.

Yesterday (20th April) was the 50th anniversary of Enoch Powell's Rivers of Blood speech -- it was largely a response to the effects of the Windrush Generation of immigrants, who co-incidentally have also been in the news this week for entirely the opposite reasons to Powell's speech (the public overwhelmingly don't want them to be deported.)

Fifty years ago angry voices were raised to kick the Windrush immigrants out, today angry voices are raised because the Windrush children are in danger of being kicked out..!! Yesterday's outsiders become today's insiders -- and the cycle repeats. People who think that the UK has changed a lot in recent years have very short memories. Today it is Eastern Europeans, for our parents and grandparents it was Caribbeans, for our great and great-great grandparents it was 'the Jews'... The one thing that never changes about immigration is how each generation claims everything has changed because of immigration..!!

Whatever.

Enjoy your view.

In regards to the Windrush incident, that is more to do with the UK governments mismanagement and incompetence than anything else.

"Brexiters" from the beginning, were saying that they should be given unconditional rights and allowed to stay. Nobody from Leave was saying they should be kicked out. But heyho, Remoaners strike again by painting this faux image that Leavers want to kick out all the immigrants.

Peace.

I know it is a little off our website's theme but I enjoy the viewpoints of those of you who live on the other side of pond because all we get on the news here ( unless you have cable and can get the BBC)
Is Trump's latest scandal or a really bloody story which of course, always leads.

Shadar - please stop saying that this is what young people want. It's nothing more than your opinion and is NOT supported by fact.

Fact: When Supergirl took a hard left turn in season 2 they lost HALF their demo viewers. Viewers they had kept even after the move to the CW. You don't get to lose half your young audience and still claim that you're giving them what they want. It's simply not true.

Now, it may be promoting narratives you like, it may be promoting social change you are for but what it's NOT doing is giving young viewers what they want. Not all or even the majority of young people are SJW hard left. Saying it's so is nothing more than propaganda.

Story and writing first, political propaganda second. There are many examples of pushback on this narrative - from Star Wars to traditional comics. Happily, we still live in a society that relies upon money - the market will weed out the foolish in time.

I like SG as a show, and despite some awful writing, and a clear attempt of shoving PC in your face.....It is somewhat of a minor miracle that we have a SG show to begin with....And not only that, but for it to run for potentially 4 seasons.

I almost feel like the whining brat in the back seat of a car, screaming This sucks that Sucks and you suck! And the driver simply replies if you don't shut up, we'll turn around.

So....i'll shut up.....for now ,)

LMAO I'd give this 1000 thumbs up if I could. Though, in my particular case, I simply don't watch or support content that gets over preachy - right or left. I watch entertainment to be entertained. Listening to Hannity or Maddow (for example because neither are actually news people) makes my ears bleed. I only squeaked in at the end of the Boomer generation, however, so I'm not old enough to have been part of the 60s.

Luckily we live in the Internet age so I can catch all the parts of the SG show I might want to watch without supporting the show or their advertisers. Netflix and a little patience is your friend. Better yet, come onto sites such as this (and others) that review the episodes so you can get a good idea of what to watch and what to miss.
