Season 3 x 21 Not Kansas......did I miss something

What if they made a Supergirl episode where nothing happens?

Reign is defeated quite easily in the first 4 minutes.
Supergirl goes home.
Some anti gun stuff...in a show that glorifies gun violence in almost every episode.

Thats about it.

Remember just a few episodes ago we had THREE WORLDKILLIERS!!!!!!!!
This story arc has gone on way to long.
The writers have plum run out of ideas.

This is like the Star Trek movies where only the even numbered ones are good.

Hmm, I not sure I would 100% agree with this personally.

I thought the episode was pretty solid.  I kinda knew that it wouldn't end in a big brawl, but it does kinda conflict with what Mon-El said earlier in the season.

Unless ofc, Reign isn't gone.  The priestess arriving on Earth, planting that totem, seemed to effect Sam in some way as she dropped her glass.  There really wasn't much else to do.  Have Supergirl punch Reign for the remainng 2 episodes? (Not that I wouldn't mind seeing that lol :P)

Now the writers have 2 episodes to wrap up the elephant in the room - a city of Kryptionians that can travel through space :D

But in fairness, the episode was solid.  The big problem was that the anti-gun laws typical pandering stood out like a sore thumb.  Seriously, that was so jarring.

Everything else imo, was well written and paced.  Even the soundtrack for the episode evoked memories of earlier in the season when we got the flashback episode.  And ofc, reminded me of Pretty Little Lies :P

It was nice to see Supergirl as Kara, but not on Earth, but in her home.  And I liked again, though the writers hinted a LOT, that they didn't quite get her and Mon-El back together.  Cut off, possibly, just in time.  At least to leaving you still guessing :P

So overall, I actually really liked this episode.  And it also progressed the narrative with the ending epsecially.  Even if there was little action.

Thumbs up from me Team Supergirl :D

Peace.

I am glad you enjoyed it Kikass.
5 minutes of actual plot for me.
Pretty sure the recap next week will cover everything.
Melissa did look fantastic in the sheer white dress.
I like the Kryptoinian fashions.

5 minutes of actual plot for me

You're actually probably right there :P

But to me, this was an episode of "feels" rather then plot.  If that makes sense lol :D

Though thinking about it, there actually was a LOT of plot in this episode.  It just got brushed over REALLY fast.  Perhaps more of a setting up for season 4?  Or maybe if they dialed back (or completely cut) that gun laws issue, they would have had time for them.  Seriously, Jo'nn IMMEDIATLY disarming his unit, in a world where ALIENS and SUPERVILLAINS attack all the time is RIDICULUOUS!!   I'm not american, but I am sure if the FBI or local police were told they had to do their job with no guns, yeah sure, that would go down with the employee LOL! :D  I'm with Lena on this :P

To give examples of some of the plot points super-glossed over (for now): -  Alex looking adopt, Miss Tesmacher being a NUCLEAR PHYSICIST and helping Lena (A Luthor and a Tessmacher together again :D), Lena finding out something about the "rock".

I don't know how much will come into play in the final 2 episodes, but I am have a feeling some of this is setup for next season.

Peace.

/K

P.S.  Line of the episode: "MISS TESSSSSMACCHER!!" :P

Now guns....Look, I think the majority of people are getting a little tired of hearing about these mass shootings. We can all get on board (I hope) with the idea that civilians shouldn't be able to buy gas powered mini guns.

But having an Alien who's bullet proof, talk to his agents who are not bullet proof, that they're going to take the first steps and disarm. Despite that every civilian out there, and alien, is potentially armed with a cannon is ridiculous. Another face palm moment.

Is this Canada's fault?

YES!
Having the Alien tell all the humans that they will be disarmed is laughable.
Maybe when I am bored someday I will rewatch the show and count up how many DEO Agents have been killed by aliens and other supertypes while Jonn is off doing something more important.

How about this.  Jo'nn disarms the DEO and they get nearly wiped out.  He blames himself and resigns and leaves earth.

I caught the ep today and for me it's a typical arrowverse filler episode

One of the main issues I have with the arroqverse is they throw a filer ep in this late in the season. Flash did it about the same time with Harry and the Harrisons, They look to be setting this up for an ep 22 cliffhanger though this could go a season finale cliffhanger as Supergirl haven't gone that route yet and they know they were renewed by the time this came around.

I'm not tv writer but I can understand it being hard making 23 eps of quality a year but the filler eps don't need to be crap (take enter flashtime for an example of filler done right)

It's a mistep yes but sometimes you need to reset before a major event
