Supermodel Kate Upton Puts On Power Display At All-Star Game Home Run Derby

Supermodel Kate Upton dazzled onlookers at New York's Citi Field during Monday night's All-Star Game Home Run Derby. As a last minute substitution. many fans thought Upton's appearance was a publicity stunt however, the twenty-one-year old soon put those thoughts to rest by drilling the first pitch she saw deep into the center field bleachers.

What followed was a power display the likes of which had never been seen before. Proving that the first pitch wasn't a fluke, Upton crushed the very next pitch far into the upper deck in left field. The crowd, momentarily stunned burst into cheers as the supermodel broke into a huge smile. Upton however, was just getting warmed up. She continued to blast pitch after pitch into the bleachers.

Her tenth home run will long be remembered as the first time anyone has hit a ball completely out of Citi Field. Her prodigious blast sailed completely over the roof of the upper deck in left field. Upon witnessing this, the crowd was on their feet, deliriously celebrating as Upton broke into laughter. By this time, even the major league players watching from the dugout were standing and cheering. Some experts estimated that the ball traveled some 700 feet, making it the longest home run ever hit in a major league stadium.

Upton continued to press on with her power display, hitting balls to every corner of the ball park. She drove another memorable home run to center field on a line drive. The ball was hit sharply approximately eight feet off the ground and appeared that it would fall into center field however, it continued on its trajectory, just barely clearing the center field fence.

Upton reached the fifty home run mark, including sixteen balls that left the stadium completely, she made the decision to stop the hitting display much to the dismay of the fans. She had far surpassed the 23 home runs hit by second place finisher Bryce Harper. Upton walked back to the dugout to receive the accolades of the players and a standing ovation from the crowd.

Upton was typically modest when interviewed afterwards. "I really wasn't trying to kill the ball. I was just trying to make contact. I guess I was just having a good night", she giggled. "When I saw how the fans were reacting, I decided to just go for it. I can't believe I hit all those balls out of the stadium. I was thinking the first one was going to land in the upper deck, then saw it disappear over the roof! I was thinking 'Oh gosh! I hope I didn't break any car windows!" she laughed. Although Upton had never played beyond the little league level, it was reported that numerous major league teams were considering offering her a high dollar contract.
