However you cant argue with the fact that are more successful than true superfemale fan could even of have wished for. The wonder woman film has been talked off in press and has superfemale success as much anyway only think gets near this was where kids in facts loads people were writing it to bring back bionic woman from the dead after killed end of six million dollar man esp. With supergirl now also going into a third season superfemales as much mainstream if not more than 1977 and future looks bright with wonder woman 2 captain marvel etc than ever has (my two cents on this anyway)

Good point. Five years ago, I wouldn't have bet that we'd have a SG TV show being produced for its third season and a well-made and successful WW movie, not to mention a WW franchise that has legs going forward.
Of course, we all hoped it was coming when superhero shows and movies began to become more popular, but given how long it's been (WW show in '77 and Supergirl movie in '84, both of them with "campy" production quality and writing - IMHO), and with a few failures since (Catwoman, Electra, etc), this certainly took time.
And speaking of "legs going forward...":

If the movie or series (even books) had any budget, every empowered female had to be an ugly freak, or an old crone becoming more grotesque. in kids movies all women overpowering other characters had to be like the ursula in little mermaid, Besides being already ugly, women with power had to shift in a nightmarish transformation to monsters or dragons. It almost felt like a subliminal message that women should be happy about being pretty and saved by the prince, or power would transform them into ogres to die alone.
Now we have things like Frozen
I think it is just the start of it. Super women are to stay.
In the superpowered universes there are no logical reasons for women to be weaker than men, power is not seen as a male privilege anymore and super heroines are the embodiment of the rise of the female social status in the western world.
For us, this cultural shift is awesome.
Expect strong women coming in every size and flavor until it becomes commonplace. It just took too long for that to happen.
