While today is an American holiday, thanks isn't bound by borders or cultures. I want to thank Fats and the moderators for keeping the site going strong, and to every writer and producer who has created content this year for our little universe. Without you, our genre would dry up and blow away.
Thank you for ensuring that doesn't happen.

Nope, today's the day. Although I did celebrate Thanksgiving with my Canadian friends a few weeks ago. I live a stone's throw (well, if you have super-strength) on the south side of the Canadian border. Seventeen miles as the crow flies.

My mother was British living in Canada and my father was Canadian born, and they were still Canadian citizens when I was born in the US way back in the 1940's. I guess that makes me an anchor baby, or whatever such children are called today. It's also part of why I joined up to serve during the Vietnam war. Citizens have obligations.

For me, it's easy. I think I was five years old when I saw re-run's of Wonderwoman on TV, and the rest is history

I grew up in a community that was a majority of Dutch immigrants. Lots of tall, athletic blue-eyed blonde girls. The Dutch girls (in my town, anyway) were physically confident in ways that other girls weren't. I think the Dutch remain among the tallest people in the world today.
Up to a year or so after puberty, which seemed to be about thirteen or fourteen back then, many of those girls were not only the strongest kids in school, but also the cutest. Don't try to arm-wrestle a pre-pubescent gymnast. Rip your arm off. TV or comics had nothing to do with it at first. I was dealing with reality amplified by youthful fantasy.
Of course, once hormones fully kick in and have a year or two to work, things change, and guys get way stronger and girls get curvier.
But by then I was hooked on the concept. Then I found Supergirl in the comics in the early part of the 60's, and I realized I wasn't the only one who thought unusually strong and unusually cute blondes were sexy.
Now it's 2018. Deep inside, where my fantasies live, things haven't changed very much.
Here's a picture of a top-ranked Dutch field hockey player in 2018. She reminds me of the girls I grew up with (except for my usual exaggeration of her eyes).
