I missed the discussion below, but I guess there's nothing more to discuss, or any reason to have a group devoted to the Aurora Universe.. Even Shadar isn't writing AU fiction any more, I haven't since early 2018, when my Bright Empire site froze, and one-time writers like Jordan Taylor, Evelyn York, Lisa Binkley and Ultrasybarite had already vanished..Tarot Barnes had tried several times to create an alternate version and given up on that. Sigh...

There's still this group, set up years ago as an emergency alternative, but few joined it.

Actually, I am still writing AU fiction and posting it to SWM. My multi-episode Earthshine series is AU as is the Scent of a Woman story. But it's not all I write now.

And we have a brand new AU writer, Klaus, with "An Unexpected Guest from an Unexpected Angle" just last week on the SWM.

Feedback from old readers continues as they hope for new material. And for them, I've also got a whole bunch of AU stories in various stages of completion, a process that seems to take me a long time to finish these days.

But admittedly, more of my output is non-AU these days. I like juggling universes as the basis for stories.

The only thing that has really died are the ancient and obsolete Yahoo groups which had been idle for years. No loss when it comes to those.

The Aurora Universe as a basis for stories won't die until people stop reading old stories and there are no new stories being written, and that won't happen while I'm alive. I figure given I started the AU, it won't die until I do. There will be dozens of new stories before that happens.

I really dig the Aurora Universe. It's what made me start liking superheroine stories in general.

Didn't got backup if the AU stuff because I don't have enough memory. Hopefully you guys did. Would love to get it.

Also really digged Tarot's stuff. But haven't had much luck finding anything regarding Linith and Daré.

I would write AU stuff, but in all honesty I am a crappy writer in general and don't even bother asking me to try erotica.

Apologies to you, Shadar. I knew you'd started some AU stories a while back, but thought you'd abandoned them for the DC Krypton serial you've been working on lately.

I confess I haven't had any ideas for new ideas for AU stories lately. My last was Part Two of First Protector, which I posted just before the computer I used to manage the Bright Empire died., I  had ended it with a teaser, but realized I didn't have any idea how Kevin's' "long story" to Alexios and Vespyr would play out. Maybe you or somebody else here could pick up the third part of the story and run with it, but the action would have to be consistent with the background established in Parts One and Two.

I understand, Brantley. I bounce around from story to story. But Earthshine is still an ongoing project of mine, but I've been putting most of my energy into Little Krypton these last couple months. I also have several other projects the size of Earthshine and many smaller ones also underway that are AU tales.

Frustrating to many, I have a tendency to get diverted in the middle of a long series, but I sometimes come back to continue paused series. Earthshine I will definitely finish, but probably not until I post a couple more episodes to Little Krypton.

As far as your stories, I was contacted just this week by someone looking for a link to your Terms of Enhancement story, and I referred them to your brightempire.com

Klaus has posted the first part of what he expects to be a multi-episode AU-verse story.

And a long-term reader is planning on picking up one of my discontinued series and continuing it as his first foray into writing in this genre.

That all makes me very happy.

Slowed down I am, but not retired by any means. The SWM is a good platform for publishing stories given it has lots of enthusiastic readers, many of whom are absolute experts in our genre.

Yahoo Groups is still not dead. And I don't know when functions will be reduced, but it won't be.

So I really hope to still see some guys talking through that location, because WTH, if it works...

Just found today that I can get a clear text of Earth Shine chapters by Googling "Shadar Earth Shine." I'd tried regular library downloads before and they came out with marginal notes and text running off the page.

I'm glad to be writing for the AU, even if I fear that Brantley might not find Hilda's particular... muscular build to his taste.

This just in:

<<
Dear Group Moderators and Members,

In recent weeks, we communicated the latest changes to Yahoo Groups and explained how to request a download of any content you’ve previously posted to the platform. Some Groups users asked us for more time, and in response to these requests, we have decided to  extend the deadline . Groups users now have until Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:59pm PST to submit a request for their data.

We have now taken down all user content from the Yahoo Groups website. However, we will continue to accept users’ requests for their data until January 31, 2020, and will ensure these have been fulfilled prior to deleting the data.

For additional support, users can email YahooGroupsEscalations@verizonmedia.com and our team will troubleshoot any issues.

Best,
The Yahoo Groups team

sorry for the inconvenience. One question, somewhere in that group, this is a file that includes episode 18 of Aurora's adventures, entitled Adventures of a supergirl. Thank you.

I have it somewhere in my writing archives... I'll try to find it. If I forget, poke me in a week.
