In case you were thinking about writing, directing, drawing, or creating anything but having a little trepidation, remember.....
Certainly rang true for me! As Phil Knight and his minions say, "Just Do It!"

My philosophy is just get out there and DO IT!
Once you have done it you have done more than most and they can never take that away from you.
I once watched a video where two middle aged men had built a crude replica of the Jupiter II set from Lost in Space and their wives had sewn costumes for them.
They were not good looking fellas and they were both kinda overweight.
Neither one could act and the story was silly.
They looked like they were having the time of their lives.

SWM, now sponsored by Nike.
Great sentiment though. I 100% agree with it

I didn't really get a lot of negative feedback for my first story.
I'm not sure if that was just people being nice or nobody reading my first story.

Your refereing to how Hendrix played a guitar aren't you?
Seriously though, I've had my issues and rants about feedback on this site but I wouldn't let that stop you from putting forward stories.
Everyone has a story to tell, whether it's a one shot or a saga what I can tell you is that on this forum people are reading and enjoying all the stories. Not everyone will tell you they are, but they are.

One of these days, I'll actually get back to writing. Maybe. I have so many stories I really want to finish that you'd think I'd make it a priority, but I never seem to have enough time.
And with everyone else being quarantined and complaining about being bored right now, I'm actually working an "essential" job and putting in extra hours right now. That's what I get for semi-retiring into a retail job that sells food, toilet paper, and soap.

My best advice is to find a writer whose stuff you like and see if you can get him or her to help you out by reading your work and then listen and take their advice. I was really fortunate that 15 years ago Argo took me under his wing. I had some really good story ideas, but it was hard for me to get them organized on paper. He is a master wordsmith. The two things I remember most was don’t repeat words and phrases and put it all down and come back and edit it later cutting back on unnecessary passages and keep punching it up. Do this about three or four times and you have a much better story.
