George Perez

George Perez is our single biggest influence for both our comic books and live-action videos (Bill Black/Fem Force comes in a close second) at Heroineburgh.

I grew up on New Teen Titans...literally tracing Starfire and Wonder Girl's figures on onion paper, in order to create new female characters which I would then submit to Dial H for Hero. None of them ever got published...but some of them are in use today in Heroineburgh!

He is a candidate for the greatest comic book artist of all time - certainly one of the most detailed. If you broke it down to just the 1980s.
he would almost have to be #1 for that decade alone (although I've seen Byrne, Buscema and sometimes Golden listen as that top spot).
And I'd like to add that in addition to all of the DC accomplishments listed above, he also worked a ton for Marvel, especially in Avengers.

Also beyond that, for those who are still unaware, George Perez was involved heavily in the superheroine video scene
which many on this forum know and love. He was both an annual presenter for many years at Tampa's FetishCon,
and a producer of dozens of full-length superheroine battle clips with the Sisterhood of Superheroines and Superheroine Agenda series.
Even after he announced his retirement from comics, he kept working on superheroine video productions.
Once again, Perez is one of our biggest influences in this category (along with the likes of Bill Black's Nightveil Media).

The reason I'm posting these links is to demonstrate that Perez was immersed deep in our world and understood it innately
better than any other mainstream comic book artist, by far!

What I need now in my life is more of those Pacesetter (George Perez newsletter) magazines. I have a few, but more would be great.

A great loss of talent.  Such a shame.  Wanting only the best for his family and fans.  I think it was very recently he posted about his bad prognosis, wow.  He had an ability to create detail but cleanly lines I so prefer and appreciate in comic book art.
