Hadn't heard about this, found it only when I queried Google News for "superheroine." Is this part of the current Right Wing media campaign?

Meanwhile, this month marks the anniversary of the death of Gwen Stacy, so the current writer on Spider-Man decided to have another character die.
Kamala is the sacrificial lamb, so that Marvel can bring her back later with powers closer to the TV/Movie version.

No, it's mostly Marvel being stupid. Kamala Khan, the current Ms Marvel, is scheduled to make her big screen debue later this year, but the character is pretty different, in terms of powers, from her comic version. Moreover, Kamala was originally meant to be a mutant, but since she was introduced in a time when Marvel was trying not to introduce new mutant characters to starve Fox, she was rewrote as a human exposed to the Terrigen Mists.Hadn't heard about this, found it only when I queried Google News for "superheroine." Is this part of the current Right Wing media camcampaig?

Wait, what? Just because another major character in canom died x amount of years ago doesn't mean they should kill of someone else!?

Considering how "temporary" death tends to be in comics, I am not too worried.

Can we _please_ not go down this path? Can we keep politics out of this?

Can we just mark a topic as “political” thereby keeping the snowflakes out?
politics Has been interjecting itself into comics, it’s no wonder the fandom has injected itself into politics.
meet the newest Supergirl, and!!! She has a penis!!!
it’s only a matter of time, stop catering to these snowflakes.

How is it political I mean I assumed it should have been called killing of mrs marval assuming the intention was to point out how dumb this move is

That opens a portal to political thinking for some, albeit a paranoia more from a couple of decades ago. There are always 'bad guys' out there in the real world, but they change. For many, they might be Russians now. But either way, potential politics of any kind is a poison when it comes to friendly discussion. That said, I thought Woodclaw handled it well, dealing with facts about a character, linking her death to that of another character in the strange "nobody really ever dies" in the comics thinking.
Rebirth and revival are inseparable from comics lore.
Many of us mourned when Kara Zor El died back in the 80's. Except, of course, she couldn't stay dead. We knew that would happen, so it wasn't so traumatic to temporarily lose a beloved character. Except she wasn't exactly the person we'd come to know from the late 50's and 60's. But the ranks of enthusiasts for stories with a 50's and 60's, even 70's, flavor is fading as the ranks of those who remember them are shrinking.

I think the answer is in the title... "killing off Muslim superheroine". It's not common (possibly unprecedented) to see a comic character's religion highlighted in comments about them. How is it political I mean I assumed it should have been called killing of mrs marval assuming the intention was to point out how dumb this move is

You’re tiring us with your victimization. Islam is not just a religion. It is a political project.
