I present you.....the Vulturess?!?!?!

OK, new scuttlebutt out of the Spiderman 4 camp is that John Malkovich and Anne Hathaway have been cast (or in negotiations to be cast). Malkovich is pegged to play the Vulture, which is an awesoem choice in my opinion!

Anne Hathaway is set to play Felicia Hardy, who we all know from comic lore becomes the Black Cat. However, Sam Raimi has come out and said that Felicia will become a new villainess called the "Vulturess". Hmm....waiting for all the fanboys to go ape shit on this one!

This might be a rumor (remember the Chameleon rumor from SM3?) This might be a smokescreen (a pretty bad one unless just meant to stir the pot), but I find it surprising that Raimi and Co have been pretty true to the basic character mythology so far and would choose to make such a big deviation from it with someone as key as Felicia Hardy.

They came out with a Spider Man movie starring Anne Hathaway as Felicia Hardy... then they put her in a big green costume with feathers and a weird beak nose and called her the Vulturess. FML.

Umm....scratch that! In perhaps the second-most perplexing move in entertainment history (the first being moving Jay Leno to 10:00), Sony has decided to scrap SpiderMan 4 and completely reboot the franchise with new cast and crew!

I understand a reboot is warranted when the series is so old (e.g Superman) or when you've completely demolished the franchise (e.g. Batman), but Spiderman 1 came out only 9-10 years ago (I think) and while a lot of fanboys hated III, it wasn't "Batman 4" bad! I actually thought it was pretty good. Tobey I thought -- while maybe getting too old -- was a great Peter Parker. Am sure they'll stock the francise with ex-Twilight or the new 90210 stars now for more demographic appeal! :P Bleech!
