Next Global Crisis - Where the Heroine Always Wins

15 Feb 2013 00:20 #30404 by boomstick_si
Hi There,

I help shoot and edit the films for NextGlobalCrisis.com . I know some people here are aware of us, and others may have heard of us and imagine they know what we do or have a good idea. 2 years ago we made a 'Girl Power' film that was kindly plugged on this forum and got a pretty good response. We've wanted to make others but were nervous about spending so much money on a bigger budget film without seemingly having much support from Uber-girl fans.

Primarily we make fight films and tell an on-going story that would not be at all interesting A: If the Heroine's always lost or B: If the Heroine's always won. Consequently the win to loss ratio for the good girls is around 50/50, not a lot of people know that but yes, our Heroines WIN on a regular basis.

So, if this has always been the case why I am bothering you again this evening? Well tomorrow, and into the foreseeable future we will be producing films that have both endings, so in effect, every film you get from us will include the Heroine winning her fight, all of them. Some of you might already be members of our site and if you are then you will know that since September we have offered short members videos with Heroine WIN endings as well, we are now extending this into all of our features. I hope this will be of interest to some of you.

Membership is free, you just sign up to the discount list which is prominent all over our site. You then get access to every film 3 days early and at 20% off the eventual listed price on the site. You also get a free out-takes and deleted scenes film which is 40 minutes long, and in the future you'll get access to members only films as well, never to be seen elsewhere.

We are looking to cater to those of you who like powerful Heroines but also want to see a good and properly thought through story with character development, something I think we've been delivering since 2009.

Thanks for reading

Here is a pic of 'Shadowstar' whose new film is out tomorrow for our members:

How is it possible to tell an ongoing story when the Heroine can either win or lose every episode?
So far every past episode I have randomly checked seems to be the Heroine is just beaten for most of the story.
However your productions and actresses look awesome.

If I start seeing super strength from those hot ladies, I'll check it out. Also some of you may not know this but I was asked by the creator of the series to supply illustrations for a comic of theirs. Sometimes they offer comics with movie downloads. This was two years ago when I was approached for my services. Guess what? I blew it. Yep I blew it. I had my chance to be part of a high quality superheroine property and I never made the deadline. I'm just venting now because I see how far the site has come and I could of contributed to that in some very small way. It's been two years and I still kick myself for - pardon my French - Fucking That UP!!!! Well if the editor who posted here enters the conversation again, I'm more than willing to offer my services again if NGC would be so gracious.

Thanks,
Bionicskillz

Hello Again,

Markiehoe - We are able to maintain the correct story continuity by having the actual ending that the writer devised in the contained film. When the film ends you get the alternate to whatever that was. If the Heroine wins in the actual film then she'll lose in the alternate ending and vice versa. This actually frees up what can be written. By 'randomly checked' do you mean watching trailers? Or do you own full episodes? Thanks, they are amazing women.

bionicskillz - I don't have anything to do with the artwork so I don't know what happened in your case, you will need to talk to Andrew at nextglobalcrisis@gmail.com

I really like this idea, however I for see this happening.
Heroine lose option: Herione is beaten for twenty minutes, story ends.
Heroine wins option: Heroine is beaten for 19 mins 30 seconds, she then jumps up and KOs villain.
I am a little prejudiced here.
I like Heroine peril but most producers go WAY to the extreme.
I must confess I have never purchased one of your videos because of the trailers I have seen on another PERIL friendly site I check out.
I think I will check out your current offering and I'll decide.

Here is a quick synopsis of the very first trailer a fan new to the site, like me, would see:
Fallen Angel
"Angel hopes to talk James Roman around, but he
has discovered her betrayal and sends Sebastian
Luner to annihilate her both physically & mentally.
A devastating and humiliating battle ensues - and
a fate far worse than death for this 'Fallen Angel'..."

She is drugged, stripped of her powers, beaten, dragged, tazed, and her back is broken!
Her back is broken with a loud cracking sound!
Boy that makes me want to run out and spend $25. :(
This is the first taste that a new fan gets of your production company.

IMO if you want tap into this market (i.e: members of this forum), then I would suggest making a new, seperate, series featuring a) a storyline focused around superheroines; and b) movies/shorts containing the superheroines performing the various super feats members on this forum like.

It really doesn't help you just adding 1 "super feat" scene while the other 10 in the film are just her getting beaten about. That just makes me personally feel ripped off (especially if I am paying $25 for that short). Whether the superheroine wins or loses isn't really an issue personally, so the choice of ending won't make me a customer so to speak.

I understand that your core market is different to what I imagine most people here like to see. I put you in the same catagory as Heroine Legends and Fightgirls2000 (though not in the extreme peril catagory of say Zen Pictures (?)). And thats fine. There is a big market for that. I just don't think many here fit into that market (again, imo).

So, to reiterate my first point, make a film based around what members of this forum would like to see and take it from there. There are many templates you can use (just watch any New Goddess film, or Superheroinefilms and you will have a very good idea) or just browse/ask in this forum for our ideas. Many have really great ones.

Your production values are awesome, no doubt there.

Give it a shot. I think there would be quite a few members willing to follow a series based around a superheroine performing super feats produced by you (I know I would). I won't be following a "superheroine-gets-beaten-but-performs-one-super-feat-in-the-feature" series. Just not my taste sorry.

Good luck and hopefully this has been of help.

Peace.

/K

Markiehoe - In our defense, the most recent episode is not typical, the story had been building to that situation for the Angel character over the course of 18 months. Even in that film she has about 30% of the moves, as shown in the trailer. Her back isn't broken, it is one move in the fight that without a sound effect would make no sense. We have NEVER made a film at 20 minutes that was 95% one-sided, and have never gone beyond about 70% one-sided. To simply provide a last ditch move to win after a 20 minute beatdown is not what we do. It would be totally dishonest to offer a win ending and do that, and the film prior to the win ending would be boring to shoot and watch.

kikass - We made such a film here: nextglobalcrisis.com/releases/season-1-training-room-10/ It did reasonably well but we don't have lots of characters with super-strength powers, we mix up the powers somewhat so breaking chains and bending bars would not be something we can offer very often. Unfortunately our films cost thousands to make so it would be beyond risky to start an entirely new series focused on strength feats. The trouble with a series where the Heroine always wins and also a series where she always loses, is that it isn't interesting from a story perspective. I am very confident that there are people on this forum who may not do anything other than lurk who will love our stuff. I am equally confident that there are people for whom any jeopardy whatsoever for the Heroine is totally unacceptable, that's fine but we just cannot cater to them. In the same way we consistently tell people who want a 100% Heroine beatdown that we won't do that either.

Markiehoe - I don't deal with issues like that but if you email nextglobalcrisis@gmail.com I am sure he can sort this out before the price goes up on Monday.

MO - Thanks, that is really great to hear!

I actually bought the training room with Miss Freedom. It was pretty sexy and awesome. But as far as I know, that's the only one that fit my tastes.

Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent directly to NGC.

Caution SPOILERS!

Guys-

I just downloaded and watched Failsafe Sisters 7.
This was my first product I ever purchased from your company.
I have mostly avoided your products because of the trailers and descriptions I have seen seemed to favor the Heroine defeated and humiliated genre.
Which I am not a fan of.
"Boomstick_si" posted on the SuperWomanMainia forum with a Heroine wins every time teaser.
I was intrigued.
I checked out your website again and the first thing I saw was the "Fallen Angel" video which looks a lot like a Heroine is defeated and humiliated video.
I voiced my concern on the forum and Boomstick_si answered some of my questions.
I downloaded Failsafe Sisters 7
First a few positive things.
Production values were great. Costumes, video quality and acting were top notch.
I liked both Actresses very much, they were very fun to watch.
The fight was a good back and forth one which is great, the Heroine should have a tough time.

I realize now that I jumped in halfway through, the introduction was confusing.
Took me a while to figure out Shadowstar was talking to some kind of floating camera and not some guy in POV mode.
I have since read up the background story on the website.
This was my jumping on point and a little background in the beginning of the video would have been helpful.

I watched just a little bit of the bonus videos and some things disturbed me.
In some videos the Heroine is pleading and begging.
This is not what a Heroine does.
That was a turn off.

The back breaking over the knee, complete with bones cracking sound is awful.
Takes all the fun out of the video.
Seems to be a favorite move, I've seen it twice in the out takes and once in the Fallen Angel trailer.

In the wallpaper folder I got nine pictures.
Pictures of Heroines defeated, scared and humiliated.
The picture of Miss Freedom used as a footstool was really disturbing.
I was thinking of getting that video, she looks great in costume, but I will never buy it now having seen that picture.
Not one picture of a Heroine striking a heroic pose.
The picture of Shadowstar that Boomstick_si put on the forum was awesome.
How come we don't get wallpaper pictures like that?

Got a reply to my E-mail to NGC.
All my questions were answered and they asked for more feedback.
Sounds like a company that listens to fans.
