SPOILER ALERT!!!

Sorry...that's the best I can do.....but I won't go into too much detail....

Just got out from watching this. It is very good, but they did wus out on the ending. There are scenes scattered throughout the film as Carrie discovers and enjoys developing her power. The power scenes are excellently done, starting very subtle but they don't stay that way long. I didn't realise before going that Carrie was the little girl from Kick Ass...she has grown up a lot since then.

The prom scene is excellently acted by the lead, but they pulled the punch. I guess mass murder at high schools is a bit more of a touchy subject these days so it makes sense that they didn't kill everybody like in the book, and toned it down a lot. As for her walk home, well...that's the bit most of you are probably looking forward to. Sadly, that doesn't happen in this version at all. She's just suddenly there.

That said, this is an excellent film overall. The Maniac in me wanted more carnage, but what there is of it is gobsmackingly well done. The lead couldn't have done a better job, and the effects are great 4 stars. Would've been 5 if they stuck closer to the book at the end.

If you liked her in Carrie you should also watch Let Me In (2011) where she stars as a child vampire. It's a role closer to Carrie's than Hit Girl's. She's quiet most of the time, but when she gets violent she really gets violent.
