Part of the issue is-if they are going to do actual She Hulk its probabbly going to be CGI-which you know a method. And also means that finding an actress who is actually can kick ass or anything is counter productive. When they cast Mark ruffalo for the Hulk, they specifically asked him to GAIN a little weight to make him look a little pudgy and unthreatening. Its how it goes.
This actually is generally how people cast superhero movies-you don't cat the superhero, you cast the secret identity. It was Guy Williams (TV Zorro) who said-no one can really act out of a mask-but if dammested he didn't try to make Don Diego a compelling understandable character even if he was suposed to be a fop. Christopher Reeve was chosen to be a likable Clark Kent. Micheal Keaton A destracted Bruce Wayne, Robert downey Jr an Assholish Tony Stark. Its how it goes. And these are actors who had to put the costume on. She doesn't
I would cast someone who is small- an Alison Brie type or An Amanda Seyfled-or maybe someline Molly Quinn who is pretty but a touch overweight. The other option to go older-get Let a Judy Greer or a Thora Birch. who can do comedy.
But you know its how you want to do it. I can bet that some people are going to read this and go "CASTOR YOUR CRAZY" i get that.
But i think the proper casting for She Hulk is someone who you say that for.

I never considered thsi POV, but it makes a lot of sense. Although I have a little caveat: it work for those character that actually have something resembling a secret identity. While this includes most of the superheroic genre, it's not always the case. For example most of the X-Men don't really have a secret identity, nor does She-Hulk or (in some versions at least) Wonder Woman. I think that the big complication there is that you have to "cast the mask" or have a team good enough to dug out the face behind the mask.

Wouldn't work with WW or Superman given our eye is very good for detecting falseness when it comes to real people, and they presumably have human expressions. All they do is change clothes between identities. It's very, very hard to fool our eye (as example, the human characters in the 300 movies were very good, but obviously CGI). But it's perfect for intelligent apes, aliens, Gollum, etc. In that case you are depicting creatures that don't exist, so our brains aren't as critical.
Also easy for Hulk as he's clearly a monster, but I suspect She Hulk (who while oversized and green still acts mostly human) would be borderline for fooling our eye when depicted via motion-capture CGI, but it might work. But the actress would have to be capable of learning a lot of Andy Serkis' techniques. That and having a compelling story that she can convincingly act in her secret identity.
Maybe I'm off base on this, but this seems like the future for superhero movies, at least the ones where the superhero transforms in some fundamental way. Something more than just donning a costume.
And maybe, with further development of the tech, even those. Does this make sense to anyone else?

The problem with Eliza Duzku for me, she could do the Jennifer Walters Personality, but thats her limit. Having seen her in a couple of indie movies-when shes not Written by Joss Weddon her talents drop perciptiously-which in the marvel universe probabbly would happen but that goes. Shes good at projecting a tough no nonsense personality.

Easy for motion-capture CGI if its done very well (i.e. big budget).
Imagine this look, but in green:

Going beyond that, given the state of art today (most recently, Dawn/Rise of the Planet of the Apes, you could perhaps do motion capture with the actor and then produce the superhero identity totally via motion-capture CGI.

You bring up a good point-motion capture is very good-but a lhuman figure that is suposed to be photorealistic, hyper muscular-and attarctive thats a tall order. It may not be an impossible order but it is tricky-it would also be very expesnvie- modern motion capture technicques are expensive-if they where to do A She Hulk movie it wouldn't be cheep. This is one reason i suspect you would see her human at the beggining of the movie at least, and probabbly human more often then you usually see She Hulk in the comics- but i wouldn't fault it for that.
But if they did that going forward can be practically any one they want. i just watched a movie where an actor mostly known for playing bland rommantic leads, played a street smart racoon in peoples clothes- and it worked pretty well. A good actress for motion capture is important-but well that suggest the importance of getting a good actress who can do subtle movements well.
