As i have alluded to on the board before i am working on a Supheroiine movie-when i first talked about looking on the script, i got responses-well i would like to invest in your movie. This isn't what i was looking for specifically-but well i guess i am ask-i am curious if anyone on here would be intrested in investing in a movie.

This isn't a 15 minute video, or any of the like its a full length probably 100 minute independent movie with the Aim of a DVD and VOD release, with some hope of maybe a small theatrical release.

I am looking for 65,000 to 1000,000 American dollars. 65 is the we can do it barebones-100k means bigger name stars.

I don't want to here give a lot of information about the movie or its plot-keep a sence of mystery. However if you want i am more then happy to give you one sheets scripts budgets etc. If you have any questions feel free to ask me-happy to anwser.

I will however give you a teaser poster i made up.

I could kick start this but I don't really want to promise DVD copies or the like-I am perfectly willing to give equity positions in it. If you invest 10k, i think if we work this well you can get 10k back if not more. Hopefully a lot more-of possibly nothing.

The goal is to produce a movie and sell the foreign rights at the A.F.M market in December and hopefully do a DVD/ VOD release early in 2016. One of the things i have discovered researching Girl power movies is -well they do surprisingly well in Places Like Japan and Korea where even fairly low budget action movies often get Theatrical releases.I think if done well, we can walk out of AFM with more money in our pockets then it cost to make-and in America have ideas for casting that i think could do interesting things. My idea: Go for Youtube, go for social media, go for cosplayers. Whats more i want to make a movie that appeals to a degree to women-if we can get that well....

When i first started writing here about two years ago i did it kind of in frustration after working on Several Superheroine movie projects that did not get off the ground, often after getting agonizingly close. 65k sounds like a lot of money(and it should never for a second be forgot that it is- When anyone says wow that 20 million dollar movie looks spectacular-how did they do that on such a low budget i have the urge to buy a gun) but yeah its a lot smaller then what i have worked with. I would like more money, but i don't want to wait for 7 million dollars. At 65k, i am probabbly not going to make anything more a couple of sandwichs and pizza. But i want to do it more then anything.

Joining SWM also a started a period n the last two years after spending years as a Screenwriter who occasionally made a little money from it, i have started working in production pretty quickly. I have found in Los Angeles a group of people who i think are willing to help me-Soundstages that are willing to work for free, Fight Coordinators who can do good, Special Effects artists who are amazing. Actors we can get, especially at the higher end of the budget range-. I think together with there hard work and my hard work i think we can make a really good movie Hollywood can be a good place to meet you dreams, even if most likely where going to film it all in South Pasadena.

And Since i have been on the site- i have found a lot of support from people from you guys-some of my stuff you haven't liked. Some you have.-however its given me a lot of moral support a lot of sense of joy. i have found you by and large very nice very supportive people. I know this isn't for everyone. i know a lot of you are broke. and i can't get mad at this. i have no desire to take your life savings and go to Australia or something (where Dru will probably kick my ass). I don't want any money until we get enough to get it done .

I do want to make a movie about two Superheroines who kick ass. And i think some of you do here to.

Somewhat-the trick is to keep costs down and work with resources, to make an intresting movie with a lot of action(which isn't as expensive as people think) and humor(which is if well done cheep to film). Thanks for the good wishes.

Definitely the most ambitious project in our space that I know of -- at least from an "independent" perspective. I wish you nothing but success and while I cannot contribute any meaningful dollars at the moments, I'll be first in line to purchase it when it comes out. Regarding your comments about AFM and the overseas market, I'd be interested in your success. When we shipped Awakening at the AFM, we had some distribution success in the Asia-Pacific market, curious as to whether the landscape has changed (for better or worse). I would have to believe there is more demand now.

Regardless, I hope you succeed and pave the way for more ventures! #ExcitingTimes

Thanks

Awakening came at the kind of tail end of the DVD market. In the seven years since DVDs aren't great but theres a little bit of an upswing with stuff like Redbox, and VOD is coming into its own-not just in america but in other parts of the world. Plus China has lostened up its Restrictions on movies a bit and its the worlds largest market. Also your seeing more western movies in places like Thailand and Philipines. I have seen friends show me the Israli posters. There is also the rise of On demand services like Roku which is helping low budget movies-and well that tech is going to make its way everywhere.

The Schedule of the movie is to try to shoot in May and June in Los Angeles, and have an edit with most or all of the special effects done by AFM in November. Compared to something Like Superman which shot last year and is coming out in 2016 this pretty fast-however most of the effects are going to be practical. I wanted to avoid to much creating artifical cities and the like-on a small budget that never looks good-instead i want to just Drones to shoot the city at night Steadicams, mixed with GreenScreen work and compositing, with a little bit of CGI to make it look amazing. Ambitious yes but i do think doable.

The releases is somewhat dependent then on what the distributors want but hopefully will be quick. One of the goals is to build up stars and twitter following for the movie-and if you do that quicker the better as that can be very time sensative. For all the Talk about Gal Gadot as Wonder Women by the time we actually see her on screen its been like 2 years since the announcement which can be to long .

So will see. Glad for your support.

Wanted to give a major update:

Thanks for everyone who has contributed or promised to for the project-it means so much to me.

However we are also partnering with More then Friends Film Funding. Its a Non Proffit organization ( a 501c in American parlance) that is dedicated to funding Lesbian and LGBT themed movies...like well Duo. They are going to do a grant based on 95% of the money raised for the movie.

What does this mean? if you want to contribute to the project, you can deduct fully that amount on Your State and Federal Taxes in America. Ie instead of paying uncle sam you can help fund DUO. We have made Uber films...tax deductible :)

Prior to this we where looking for investments-IE if the movie make money you would. We Still are But this is Either/or. However if you do want to donate a reasonable amount i will have no problem sending you a Blue Ray when its done, or other contribution, as well crediting you in the movie.

Any level here is well appreciated 20 dollars or 20,000. And if your anticipating a big tax bill this can be a good thing. Doing a little bit after April 15th maybe the wrong time of year to think about this stuff but well 2015 is a good year and want to go at it.

This is only in the US but i do think some countries support non national Charities. you will certainly have to check in to it..but well lets see.

Are those the actresses that are going to be in the movie? one of them is a well known cosplay model, Vampy Beauty, by the looks of her.
