In truth, she was responding to an interviewer who said she's be good in the role, so it's not like this is a campaign of hers or anything. Yet. But it's starting to blow up on social media.

Interesting idea. Not sure what to think about it. I kind of like this idea. She can bulk up to be Captain Marvel and has acting ability.

Not a bad choice persay...

She has the look for the part, and has the kind of femininity that would go well as an action heroine. shes good actress at playing a serious straight presence in movies. As i have said before i find Captain Marvel best as the straight woman to stupid shit flying around her and she could play that well with a good script.

That said I think someone like Robert Downey Jr skill is-the script for Iron Man is pretty bad, but through natural charisma he more or less saved the movie. Most of the other actors have moments where they do similar things(to various degrees: As state elsewhere i am not the worlds biggest fan of MCU).

But i am not sure she is the actress to do that . She can play stiff and strong-but i am not sure you can like her despite that.

After watching the movie i came away thinking yeah this isn't a bad choice.

I think a lot of people have come out hating her character in the movie-a kind of uptight shrewish businesswoman who gets told that she should stop and have kids, and eventually falls for the big tough hero. Its not a very femenist character arc

But the actual performance is pretty good. She did great as a person surrounded by probably a lot of sticks with tennis balls on them of seeming very present in the action and seeming as if this is the worst day of her life-which is very tricky to do with CGI. She seemed like she was reacting to it and it felt a performance of the movie-unlike Pratt who seemed a touch lost-though i do think her chemestry is good with him as she does more then a lot of movies suggest that these aren't two people meeting each other in the first scene but people who have known each other for awhile. Her couple of momments of humor work, if only becuse shes not really telling a joke but reacting to it.

And She acted as if she was scared and frightened-but that wasn't totally stopping her from doing what needed to be done. Her Bravery is what kind of saves the day, and if its bravery that knows fear, its still brave. In the last half of the movie she wants to save her Nephews and the people of the park, and she doesn't stop until she acheives her goal. Its not a tradional action heroine, but it does feel a lived in realistic part that is worth something.

And if you can bring that to Captian Marvel You have something.

Granted with the criticsm she is getting here i doubt she'll get it-but yeah not the worst choice.

Not a bad choice, although I'm still convinced that Katee Sackhoff would be better fit for the role, given her performance as Starbuck in the Galactica reboot.
