Supergirl possibly the subject of Man of Steel sequel?

Seems Unlikely.

Even if Supergirl is the biggest show in history i don't think there going to want to put her in a movie while the show is running, given how long the DC movies seem to take to make. Benoist is duoing TV and by the time it takes to release a the show could be canceled, or change radically--it just locks things down.

They could hire a diffrent actress and seperate the universes..but that seem unecessairly confusing.

What's interesting is that they reference the MOS prequel comic book, which I have always felt was a wonderful springboard for Supergirl into the MOS universe. Given she'd be starting 20,000 years in the past, they could pick any historical period, but I'd guess they'd find a way for her to live in suspended animation and then reawaken in the modern day world of MOS. I don't think her cognitive dissonance would be any worse than Melissa's version of SG, given they were both raised on Krypton. Which is to say, it would be shocking. I doubt we will see that in SG TV given her arrival was more than ten years earlier. Other than maybe through an odd flashback of her living with the Danvers as a pre-teen.

Also, the prequel comic showed her in her twenties and trained as a scientist, a exploratory spaceship captain and a warrior. That would be a very, VERY interesting Kara Zor El.

And introducing a new actress to play Supergirl would be good. Melissa is a wonderful fit for the kind of TV show they're making, but I'd want someone a lot edgier for a feature movie. And as you say, if Supergirl TV is successful, then she'll be tied up for a long time.

George Miller knows how to portray strong, edgy female characters, so he should be able to do a great job. We need a younger actress (who looks like a younger Charlize, in my opinion) and has enough depth and edges and acting chops to me truly exciting.

I would be very happy to watch Melissa on TV and someone else in a movie. Bubblegum works on TV, but not in feature movies. No way a movie is going to be anything like this TV show.

Don't believe anything from that site. The guy makes his money (i.e. clicks) by just making stuff up about upcoming genre movies and hoping something sticks. This rumor for example, if Supergirl turns out to not be in MOS 2 then he'll just say "Well, the studio changed their mind in the writing process." Why anyone gives him a lick of credence is beyond me...

Supposedly that's what they are doing with The Flash, which makes no sense to me.

It is what they ware doing with Flash.

DC's Cinematic Universe isn't tied to the TV shows -- and not all the TV shows are tied together. Arrow and Flash are, and they might be loosely tied to Supergirl, but none of these seem tied to Gotham. It's cool that Marvel ties it all together, but it's not the only way to do it. (I say this a big fan of what Marvel is doing.)

It frees the movies up to be the tone/style they need, without hamstringing the TV Show. Each gets to be what it needs to be w/o worrying about the other. Theoretically, this gives DC more freedom than marvel does, it can make the best choices for each medium independent of the other.

And I don't see the big deal, even Marvel doesn't do this 100%. Marvel's animated stuff is completely independent and always has been. Marvel also has the problem of the non-Marvel Marvel movies (X-Men, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four) as they appear to the casual movie goer to be "Marvel" movies but aren't. It doesn't seem to bother most people that there are two Quicksilvers.

If you notice the Marvel TV shows are either carefully crafted (SHIELD) or are held in a tight bottle (Daredevil) -- I expect Jessica Jones to be similar (I'd be VERY surprised if Captain Marvel shows up in Jones, even though in the comic she's good friends with Carol Danvers). Daredevil was absent any "tie-ins", other than easter eggs and backdrop (no guest stars from the MCU). Arrow and Flash live in a pretty big world, mixing it up with Batman villains, and acting in China, United States, etc. They're not contained, and use a LOT of characters, including the Suicide Squad. SHIELD has a nice jigsaw hole that they put it in (one show, and it takes a lot of work).

Both approaches work. It's really the art that speaks for itself. We'll have to see how good DC's TV Shows continue to be, and how good their movies are.
