What's going on around her neck?

I think they're some locks of hair pushed in bad spot by the cowl.

I am of two minds of this.

Wonder Woman has always been a character that is most intresting when its intresting thats shes a woman. 40s 70s, 80s, 90s.Its hard. i do think setting this in the 40s is a good way of playing with this...

on the other hand Agent Carter Did the same thing and i found the "But your a girl" aspect of that got tiresome pretty quick, it felt Eye Rolly Femenism. History that happened.

And i hope they find a good tack there. Marston did some of that(which was a little better at the time and retrospect), but he did a good job also of simply letting her be the powerful woman the reader could respect. She was a wonder, and that worked.

I do think there there is a lot of peontail here for a good movie. The director sounds intresting, i think this for what it is looks fine picture-this has a chance-and i am rooting for it.

She reminds me more of Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) more than anything - hardly an awe-inspiring Wonder Woman!

Now that I'm watching Jessica Jones, I no longer care what they do with WW. I doubt she's going to escape her very flawed origin. And with Supergirl doing the cute thing, and Jessica doing the bad-ass sexy adult thing, what is WW going to do?

Ominipotent goddess?
Heart of gold heroine to save men from themselves?
Or just a female counterpoint to Batman and Superman?
Window dressing?

These two shows are kind of boxing WW in all the more. And she's always been boxed in.

Bottom line, I'm really enjoying the concept of a flawed Jessica trying to make her way in a gritty world, haunted by a "demon", and with the strength and toughness to survive in Hell's Kitchen. I thought it was hilarious when she held the back of the car up in EP1, and when the bad guy started to give her shit, she threatened to "burn your insides out" with her laser eye beams (which of course she doesn't have). Intimidating those who deserve it is fun to watch.

Living in a world where ordinary folks know something about the superhumans among them is interesting, especially given that man's first (and legitimate) reaction was fear. That rings true to me. I think that would be most people's first reaction to someone like Jessica.

Yet she's also very human and vulnerable, both emotionally and to a lesser extent. physically.

When done well i do think the central concept of Wonder Woman is potentially better then Supergirl("Hey i am Awesome, let me use it for good") or Jones("I'm fragile and flawed but i can take care of myself")

The Central of Wonder Woman is that she is perfect-but the world is flawed. And as an outsider she is well aware of that And she desperatly wants to tell the world, to make it better- -but well never quite can. It will never be good enough, but her struggle is to try.

There is poetry there-even though Wonder Woman can be as gritty as Jessica Jones it comes with the awarness that something is better there, something in the muck worth saving. But she has to be present. One of the conceptually intresting things of her powerset is that everyone she meets-from domesday or Darksied or a thug with a gun is a potential threat she has to be aware of in the momment, and deal with the world directly.

Which is not to say that the movie will be good or anything-but i do think there is poetial here for something intresting. They will certainly have a bigger budget to action and excitment more then anything we have seen so far-but well will see.
