So the director publically stated this was not the movie he wanted to make.
(He wanted a darker version)
It's main star Kate Mara has stated that she has not seen the movie.
Now the producer says it was not a good movie and it strayed to far from the roots.

I think every on blames the director .. And the mishmash they did when they tried to salvage the movie.

Just watch Kate Maras hair change color.

But the actors were great.

Ugh, no. Please, Fox, let Marvel have the rights back.

I don't necessarily want Marvel to make FF either, but least then they could use Doctor Doom in their other movies.

I am not sure i blaim the director.

I'll say this-there is a good to maybe even great movie in Fantastic Four, and there are momments-good momments where it connects with it. It gets the idea that Fantastic Four is about Wonder and seing something well fantastic just beyond you.

But it doesn't quite finish.

I guess the story i have heard is that they had a script that was roughly twice as long going in. They had a long subplot involving Moleman for example-which never got filmed. Never got close to getting filmed...However they never replaced it with anything else-they just excised large parts of the script, which honestly don't sound good, but sounds like something-and that something is really missing.

And then when they finished the movie Fox Saw a rough cut of it missing special effects...and decided they didn't want to spend any more money to finish them. And the movie is really missing those scenes(which are basically a subplot they are hinting at that the Human Torch and Thing have bene turned to wepions).

I will say this: The Thing in Comics is one of the werid marvel touches i generally don't like-he doesn't really fit in a normal reality enough for me to buy. But Jamie Bell is actually very very good in this movie, a the scene where he can't control his powers at all was one of my favorite scenes from last year. The movie really has a five minute second act...but that is by far the best part of the movie, and if they could figure out how to make that longer its there.

So yeah i do feel a little bad for the movie-Kate Mara hair color stuff ehh...i realize there delouding themselves if this sequal talk is anymore then contract stuff, but almost i would kinda like to see it.

I don't think that any F4 movie would ever have a decent chance until a studio, any studio would acknowledge that, in spite of being from Marvel, F4 isn't a superhero comic and the movie should try to be one either. The two central dynamics of F4 are family and the sense of wonder, in this sense the strories tend to play more akin to the old "Loast in Space" TV show than a usual comic book.
Until a movie acknowledge these two point I think that any attempt will fall short no matter how good the director, the VFX and the casting are.
