Really looking forward to this one. The comic was great. Looks like they've tweaked her powers and origin considerably/

It’s getting a lot of vitriolic responses that I’ve seen (the show in general, not the trailer), mostly based on either “they changed her powers” or she’s “too woke” or “the costume looks cheap”
The trailer looks pretty good IMO. Marvel does a good job of making each new production unique with its own style and this seems true here. I’m looking forward to it and will watch.

Rolling my eyes at the vitriol. To be expected from the usual suspects. I think it looks pretty good. It’s getting a lot of vitriolic responses that I’ve seen (the show in general, not the trailer), mostly based on either “they changed her powers” or she’s “too woke” or “the costume looks cheap”

Cautiously optimistic.

I'm not terribly bothered by wokeness -- just the culture of the day that always changes with time if you live long enough -- and costumes don't make or break a character, at least for me. What I like is an intelligent and in-depth portrayal that "realistically" portrays what it would be like to have super strength and invulnerability while trying to use them to change the world. How it affects relationships and one's sense of self, not to mention being incredibly cool to be able to really use such powers.
The trailer doesn't completely rule that out, but the state of writing in movies and shows doesn't make me optimistic.
The one thing that does bug me is the recycling of names. The Ms. Marvel I grew up with was tall, blonde and a Kree-Human hybrid of sorts who had two identities and personalities that she struggled to integrate. Brie Larson's portrayal was poor in that regard and not what I was hoping for. This portrayal, while potentially interesting, simply should be called something else so it can stand on its own two legs.
But I'll give it an open-minded watch, hoping to find some of what I do like, but I'm going to have to work hard to mind-wipe the Ms Marvel labeling away.
Picture below is from when I got on board:

"The costume looks cheap"? The show is literally about a kid from a middle class family in New Jersey. If anything, the costumes in both the Maquire and Garfield Spider-Man films look too expensive given that we're talking about a lower middle class kid from Queens. At least Holland had the excuse of his suits being made by Tony Stark.

The costume looks cheap o think might even revolve around her possible fangirling cosplay. The one with the helmet I think is an homage to Capt Marvel and I would think isn’t remotely gonna be a final look
