Big drop-off in ratings this week -- almost 30%. While it could be expected, the early reviews are hardly stellar and admittingly, the show needs to pick it up a little. If you want to see the show survive, watch or you might be surprised to see "The Turk" visiting it very soon! If you don't wanna see it survive, you can hop over to IMDB, you are not alone!! LOL

Hello,
This 2nd episode, again, like the first, seems to be too artificial. Now, everyone has their own opinions about what they want to see in the BW series, me, its all about super strength/super feats. (as I'm sure everyone wants to see here) The show seems too focused on the military and them hunting down Jaime with assignments rather then letting her live a normal life and letting her grow into her bionics. I wish they would give her that superhero-esque feel, like Lindsay W had in the 70s, where she was a schoolteacher by day and secretly the bionic woman. There is not enough bionic scenes this time around as its 45 min of boring plot with a few seconds here and thee of bionic moments. I know its not going to happen, but dangit, I wish Jaime would grab the back of a bumper and stop a speeding car in its tracks, that has kidnapped her little sister or have her crush metal with her hands. But, I dont see that happening, thanks to that MTV generation and their 'matrix' esque, super fast fight scenes. (I cant see a dang thing when Jaime uses her bionics in her fight scenes.

Now, I do enjoy the superspeed they gave her and her bionic eye. Those are pluses for me. But, the Dark Angel-like theme is really not my thing, plain and simple. If she has bionics, she should want to help those around her, if she goes to the grocery store and a robber holds it up, or someone holds students hostage at her sister's school. You know, scenes where only a BioW would be able to save the day. I'm a HUGE superheroine (Power-Girl esqe) fan, but why not give this BW a theme like this? Even a lady friend of mine thinks this BW is also garbage because her bionic scenes are not focused enough and the plot is to boring.

This is how I feel, everyone has their likes and females using strength scenes is my fav. :P

Didn't CBS ,in boasting of Criminal Minds ratings, say BW dropped only 21% in the ratings? I thought I read that at the Futon Critic website. Over at IMDB, it seems bashers are using multiple user names and posting over and over again.

Some sites are saying the ratings drop is not as bad as it looks.
I don't think NBC will cancel the show quickly.

Well, I wish I could support BW by tuning in but I don't get NBC here in Germany ... ;)

Anyway, when watching shows with a superstrength theme I either watch it only because of that or because of the story ... umm what I'm trying to say ... I enjoy watching Heroes for example because I find it highly entertaining, and having Ali Larter as a superstrong character is a plus but not really what makes me watch the show, even though I do hope that she displays her superstrength some more in this season. Until now I have only "tuned" into Smallville when there was supposed to be ubergirl material in an ep -- otherwise the show is just too soapy for me (I liked the last two eps though, so I'll probably give it another chance).

With BW I'm a little torn between these two "extremes" ... I really want to like this show and so far I'd give the pilot a 7/10 and the 2nd ep maybe a 5.5/10. But the next episodes should better pick up some mysterious, thrilling continuing story-line (a la Heroes) or I fear the show will go down-hill from here. The "job of the week while she's trying to live her normal life" thing doesn't do much for me.

After seeing the pilot some time ago (the leaked version) I didn't really expect any super-uber-strengthfeats from this show and I haven't been disappointed so far  ... I still like the feats they do show even if it's more along the lines of Dark Angel ...

I really hope the show gets better within the next episodes.

Naah,
We dont hate ya BSz, everyone has something they like/don't like about this new BW series. Me, I wish she was normal and not involved with the dang military and used her bionics in a normal setting. (but, thats just me) So, we all like her for something different, no right or wrongs here.

No hate from me ~ buy why? I like the classic more too, but I don't think we'll ever get that back even if this one were to stop today. Why hope for an end?

That was a wierd one last night. There were at least two lines that I thought would be really sexy if they actually were delivered "live action" ~ but turned out to fall flat on thier faces ~ I will watch it again via nbc.com to find what they were again. The entire episode I sort of enjoyed but I was like this: :? I'll still watch it ~ I like it for what it is ~ which is still better than the reality or game shows.

I've just watched Wednesday's episode, and it's the first one i've enjoyed. I like the fact they're trying to get some humor into the program. It also looks like to me, Michelle Ryan is growing in confidence in the role and her acting was better in this episode. Hopefully the program can survive and continue to improve, I still wanna see Michelle bend a steel bar or crush a brick, I can live in hope :)

For someone as notoriously obsessed with superhuman hotties as I am, I've been remarkably slow in coming around to actually watch this show.

Well, last night I managed to catch about half an episode, and I'm sorry to say but I can see why it's getting slammed by critics & bloggers from all angles.

My personal take: the lead actress really isn't that cute, so why am I supposed to watch this show again? I guess they were going for the 'plain Jane becomes uber' angle... but that's not doing it for me. It seems less like a revival of a boner-worthy 70's TV show, and more like a not-as-good Alias or Dark Angel rip-off. I won't be depressed when this one gets cancelled. Sorry fellow superfriends.
