JLU: Galatea Returns

JLU: Galatea Returns was created by steelknight3000
In the episode Flashpoint 23 which just aired in Canada, we see Galatea return. She will be featured more prominently in next week's episode (Canada). Of course, the episode can be downloaded after it airs so us American viewers wont have to wait. I posted a clip of her appearence on the XtSt FTP server.

And it was very much appreciated INDEED!! :D :D

Wish someone would 'extract out' the part in the first episode
where the guy shoots at her and it all explodes and she is
left just standing there (only she is in the air, hovering :D )

Just saw the episode and fans of Galatea are in for a treat, albeit brief. The whole storyline with Cadmus is the focus of the episode and it is pretty good and kinda shocking to see what happens during the episode. As for Galatea's "uberness".....

**** UBER-SPOILERS BELOW *****

The scene with Galatea is brief but shows General Waller approaching her as she presses 1.5 million pounds overhead. When the general asks her if she is "fit again for duty", she puts one hand on her hip, smirks and says "Never been fitter!!" while still holding the weight overhead. A scene straight from the pages of several of the authors here! The scenes for next week during the credits show her prominently slugging it out again with Kara.....

but shows General Waller

FYI, Amanda Waller is not a General, she never wears a uniform. I think she's the administrator of the whole damned Cadmus Project.

Thx for correction! I also have my suspicions that Colonel Sanders wasn't really in the service too! :P

You'll be telling us next that General Electric and General Motors never served either.

I don't know about that, but you guys are becoming a "Major" pain.

Bad jokes aside, I can't wait to see Galatea slug it out with the Justice League next episode. It looks like the Cadmus/JL feud is coming to a head. I just wonder which side Batman is going to take?

I downloaded and watched this week's new episode from Canada.

I'll just cover what Galatea did since I don't want to spoil the ending for those who are following the series.

Anyway, Galatea leads a group of superheroes in an assault on the Justice League Tower. However, it was a little dissappointing that she didn't get a little more action. I expected to see her blowing her way through the minor members of the Justice League as she makes her way to the engine room. However, the only thing we see her do is beat up on Steel for a little while and then beat up on Kara (Supergirl) for a while. Galatea is then beaten by SG when SG electrocutes her with a huge cable.

In my opinion, if you're not watching this show, you should be. Not just for the superheroine content, but the writing is superb. I hope they can keep it up.

Agreed in that Galatea wasn't featured a lot, but a little goes a long way....

Totally agree on the writing comment.....not only is the story well thought out (basically has stitched the events of past 8-10 episodes together), but some of the dialogue is really creative. Uber-factor aside, a really entertaining series to watch.....

I've been following JLU all season, and I haven't seen Galatea since her first appearance way back when. Do episodes air significantly earlier in Canada? :? That sucks (well, for those of us on the south side of the border). :x

BTW (for those who don't know and might be interested) -- In classical mythology, Galatea was the name of an ideally beautiful female statue carved by the sculptor Pygmalion and brought to life by Aphrodite, goddess of love ... hence an appropriate name for a woman created by Project Cadmus and brought to life to serve as the perfect uber-soldier.

And that reminds me of a joke. Let me know if you want me to post it. My Peter Bent joke didn't get much of a response. :(

When I tried the link in the message, a window appeared that stated files were available for only 7 days or 25 downloads. So the file is no longer available from the link. Is there somewhere else where I can get the file?

Yes, the episodes in Canada are well ahead of the episodes here in the US. I live in the US also and have been downloading them off of bittorrent to watch them. The new ones are usually posted an Sundays.

Interesting comment about the mythological origin of the name Galatea. I hope she comes back for season three.

Go ahaead and tell your joke. I've posted my share of bombs on here also. It's someone else's turn!!

All right, jd, since you were good enough to answer my question, here's the joke:

Two statues -- one male, one female, both nude -- had stood for decades at opposite sides of a park entrance.

One day a wizard came along. With a wave of his magic wand, he turned the two statues into flesh-and-blood human beings.

"As a reward for your years of uncomplaining service," he told them, "I have made you human. The spell will last for one hour. Use the time in any way you like."

Immediately, the pair rushed into a nearby grove. The wizard turned his back and smiled indulgently as grunts, giigles, and the rustle of leaves filled the air.

Half an hour later, the pair emerged from the grove. They were holding hands and smiling broadly. They had obviously had a wonderful time.

The wizard said, "But it has only been thirty minutes. You have another thirty minutes left."

The pair gazed into each other's eyes. "Would you like to ... do that again?" asked the man.

"Oh, yes," said the woman, her eyes shining. "But this time, you hold down the pigeons so I can **** on them!"

Guys,

Thanks for informing us about this episode. I've set by TiVo to grab the next airing, and I appreciate the heads up.

BTW... Sorry the plug got pulled on Ubergirls.org a little ahead of schedule. I switched service with my ISP from business to residential after I moved out of my house to sell it, and it turns out that they block personal web servers on those types of accounts.

Anyway, I've been very busy taking care of my own two ubergirls, who are now nine months old and (this is no joke) stronger than any 9 months old ought to be. We were quite surprised today to see one of them grab her hands around a bar on her high chair and lift herself off the floor completely and swing by her arms. With a total of eight freakishly strong arms and legs combined on the two of them, it's like being attacked by an octopus when they play with daddy.

Anyway... Thanks to the sysops for setting up the new BBS.
